PC Voice Comms

  • Jeddite_Eso
Just because they have it, if added, doesn't mean you will not need TS, etc. many of the more active guilds will still use TS due to the features that in game chat cannot provide.

that goes other way around too just cause we have ts doesnt mean we shouldnt have the other option if we want it

atm if i go pvp and i am not part of the guild its either :
    -join random ffa action group
-spam in zome chat for ts group and if you join one ... what is ts info bla bla .... can you pls move me to your channel ... waiting ... ty for moving me ..

much easier if not with guild to join a group and have the voice option ready no?

That's true. But at least I won't have to type out instructions to all the PUGs I get for each fight. It really is something they ought to give us.

Not necessarily. It would be yes I my based on an assumption that the group you join is using in game voice chat. Also, an assumption they are a decent group for leading AvA raids.

It's been my exoerince that stronger players tend to have TS, etc., and are able to manage TS fairly well. With that, yes, in game chat wouod be good for the more casual player who doesn't join a guild.

Dungeon PUGS would be SO more effective and faster if there were group voice chat. DDO does it and so does Neverwinter.

It would drastically improve the pug scene. Of course, you need the options of altering the volume of other players and muting them too.

I'm not opposed to there being a voice comm in game, but it will never be as useful as Vent or Teamspeak. Will the in-game voice allow you to adjust individual voice volumes and tones? Will it allow you to use the comm when the game window is not up? I've found that useful when googling stuff etc. Will the in game voice allow you to create chat rooms, control who has access, etc? Will it allow you to adjust your bitrate for poor connections?

Might as well just use a 3rd party program.
Foräois - Imperial Sorcerer of Ineptitude.
Widoch - Nord Dragon Knight of Ignorance.
Billy Bob - Dunmer Templar of Chicken and Noodles.

I am not saying ts,vent and other are bad programs, just for random group are not as good... imagine what it is to have option to talk every time you take random pledge group or random pvp group... i dont play mmos from a month or so ... just when your friends are not on and you just wanna log and do something things could be a bit better

Do you really want to group with a PUG with a build in voice chat and no push to talk option? I can see why that might help in some pugs, but if they do add that option later, there better be a mute all option.

The biggest issues I have seen with other games with build in voice, it when guys work out there is a real female in their group and start flirting\hassling.

They said if it's added there will be so dont worry.
Edit: However there should be also on option to see who in group is in mute so no useless spam to him/her is done.

voice coding has been around since, xbox...

    xbox was released in 2001.

You think that 14 years later, they couldn't match or do better than what someone did 14 years ago???

Sure its the console, but the xbox is pretty much just the same as a pc.. I'm sure there was voice programs back then too.

Take for example, teamspeak... It has been around since 2002.
I don't know how it was created, but I'm pretty sure it was created by people who wasn't on a payroll compared to the developers that this game has. Probably nothing but a bunch of nobodies made teamspeak... Now what do you think a bunch of professional coders... Ones that are part of massive scale video game productions?? What do you think they could do?

Yall make it sound like if this game does make a voice comms, it would be garbage compared to what a bunch of nobodies made.

TeamSpeak.. Released in 2002.... ITS FRIGGIN 2015!!!

I'm just sad at how the low the bar is and everyone assumes that's the norm. The norm being having to use 3rd party software that pretty much a bunch of nobodies made. People that was looking for voice comms that played video games, and just shared it and it kept on being shared.

People prefer that stuff over what SUCCESSFUL programmers... Programmers that get jobs, and in high quality expected jobs, like this game..

I cant imagine what the programmers that work for zenimax resume looks compared to those that made or helped make TeamSpeak. (zenimax dev resume probably something like masters or doctors degree with 25 different computer certifications, people that made teamspeak resume is probably like, learned coding from youtube and programming for dummies).

Lastly, the coding is already there to be honest, its been out for a long time, its just lack of initiative to actually use it and implement and tweak it.. Its not like asking for motion sensing, playing the game without hands or something.... That technology is NEW... Voice comms.... That's ANCIENT technology... 13 years + ago technology... Pretty much adding voice comms in this game is like copy paste and a little tweaking... I'm sure there's sample templates for voice comms coding, since its been out for SOOO long.. Now, if they wanted motion sensing in this game.... That's gonna be some time consuming and actually require time off other projects and more people to work on it and so forth.

Yall saying that these developers would bring out something not as good as current 3rd party, and yet its all like ancient. xbox even had good voice software. All of those 13+ years old... And today's technology, with the best programmers in the business... Best programmers in the business as in, they are working on brand product of a highly rated game such as the elder scrolls.. Yet you doubt the ESO developers abilities to exceed what the ancient old 3rd party software created by a bunch of nobodies has done???

Know what this kinda reminds me of.
    Microsoft.
They got all those professionals, and someone telling them, let the 3rd party antivirus software companies to do antivirus and not worry about any virus protection at all.
Microsoft obviously increased there protection against viruses.. IDK about you guys, but I don't have an antivirus, it just slows my computer down to be honest... Same thing could be said about having 3rd party voice comms.
BTW now that we have smartphones... How many people do you think have antivirus on there smartphone... That isn't super nerdy and into technology?? I sure don't have an antivirus on my smartphone.

Adding in Voice is a win for those who want it, and would not interfere with those who want to continue with 3rd party apps. Any comments about Voice causing more lag is pure speculation...we won't know until it happens. The same applies to PC Controller support. Adding it wouldn't stop M/KB users. It's easier to talk than type, so I welcome it. As for chaos ensuing on voice, I can't imagine it would be worse than TS3....sometimes good, sometimes not so good.

i stopped playing this game as they didn't bother putting in voice chat! some people saying area chat is a bad idea are just excuse making on there own preferences. where there is an option to have something on there is always an option to turn it off.

THE SIMPLE STATEMENT IS THEY MADE THERE MONEY SO THERE'S NO NEED TO ADD IT AS YOU STILL BOUGHT THE GAME.

random questing with people and trying to type a plan out DOES NOT WORK!!!

GETTING A LOAD OF RANDOMS WITH MIXED PC KNOWLEDGE TO GET A CHOSEN VOIP CLIENT ALSO DOESN'T WORK AS PEOPLE CANT BE ASKED MOST OF THE TIME!!!!

Weirdest reason for no longer playing I may have ever read on these forums. To each his own though.
Edit: How long have you been waiting for this thread to pop up and get that off your chest? Must have been exhilerating! :D

I wish this were an OPTION as well. Have it off by default, let people switch it on if they want. Mechwarrior Online had the same problem. Yes, I used Teamspeak on there a lot, but for a quick PUG it was a pain. Worked great with my guild, but couldn't dedicate enough time to stay in it.
