Charging Master's weapons

My friend use a Master's inferno staff:

Destructive Touch abilities hit for 486 additional damage and cost reduced by 12%. While equipped, Max Magicka increases by 972.

He does not use Destructive Touch, but still need to charge the weapon 3 times in one simple dungeon. We thought it only used charges when the enchantment was being used. Is this a bug? We are planning on not charging it at all, since we still get the Max Magicka bonus from it, or do we lose something else then just the Destructive Touch bonus?

    please do something about this...the charges on masters weapons get sapped very very quickly.

    Most weapon enchantments only go down on light\heavy attacks when they are used.
    Master weapons use a 'charge' on every skill used (which seems silly)

    But if your not using the Destructive Touch, just do what most people do and never charge it, as the other buff (max mana) still works.

    Inb4 they change it so that max mag goes away if you dont charge it. There is someone in the ZOS camp chanting "MOAR SINKS" to the team, i just know it.

    please do something about this...the charges on masters weapons get sapped very very quickly.

    1. Put staff on when charged
    2. Look at stats
    3. Wait till all charges are gone
    4. Look at stats
    5. Notice how stats are the SAME
    6. Most master weapons do NOT need to be charged to maintain the effect.

    Is 972 magicka bonus worth of losing 490 damage from "normal" damage enchant? Is there any point of using Master's destruction staff when you're not going to use destructive touch? I believe that crafted inferno staff with nirnhoned trait and glyph of flame will be better then any master's staff.

    Master weapons, some are good, most are ok


    Master's inferno staff (and the ice or lighting version) not very useful
    Master's Restoration staff, good for trials where you are using Healing Springs alot, otherwise, not very useful
    Master's Bow....GREAT for bow builds
    Master's Daggers also GREAT for duel wield builds.
    Masters Sword, ok for tanking builds but its a small heal and unless it has good traits, not very useful.

    All the others..... ok but not great, unless they have the prefect trait for your build, most do not make much of a difference to your build.

    But that's just my view and I am sure some players love them. But its always sad when you break them down for materials.

    why not just make master weapons effects a set bonus instead, it makes more sense to me. a 1 piece set bonus, they are master weapons after all.

    490 damage every 4 seconds, with 50% crit chance it averages to 612.5 damage every 4 seconds, which is 153 damage per second added from the enchant. If the 972 magicka bonus is not increasing your damage more than 153 per second, then a Master's Staff is doing you no good.

    why not just make master weapons effects a set bonus instead, it makes more sense to me. a 1 piece set bonus, they are master weapons after all.

    need to necro this, pls fix the enchant, need to recharge at least once when going into a boss fight in vMol. as I didn´t get lucky with a sharpened maelstrom inferno and have an unused spot for staff the masters sharpened inferno is my best bet for the slot

    who will use master dagger for +- additional 250 damage into only blood craze? you will take more into your max dps witch enchant giving you 350 weapon and spell damage

    It is also worth remembering msa dagger which in everything is better than dsa dagger.

    yeah, tis is obvious :p but at all much better are also crafted nonset duals with crafted enchants than pathetic master daggers

    There is no need to charge the master resto or destro, the bonus damage and cost reduction from the destro and stam return from the master resto always applies. The only master enchant that needs recharging is the master sword, the heal doesn't work unless it is charged.
