Mass Kuta Shortage

But the difference between Kuta and Rekuta is not much. In some cases there is no difference in enchantment power between using a Ta and a Kuta as the aspect rune, e.g. potion cooldown reduction glyphs.

TL;DR - Purple is just fine. So is green below level 25....blue to 50....then start using that higher level stuff.

I never used any Rekutas/Kutas until I was vet level. Even now, I only use Kutas on the three pieces of armor where you get the full value and then on my weapons/jewelry. All other armor pieces get Rekutas.

Since 1.6 I've gotten 1 Kuta from my V5/50 Enchant character and 1 Kuta from my lvl20/35 Enchant character. I've only received 2 enchanter surveys (each character received one), and no Kutas from either surveys. From my hirelings, one has max lvl (plus max in extraction) and the other has 1 lvl (2 in extraction), I've not received any Kutas since 1.6. But, I've received A LOT of Rekutas!

Oh man, oh man, oh man, so I've been saving up Craglorn Enchanting Surveys for a little bit - I had 4 of them sitting around. I did a max level writ today, and for the first time I got a Kuta as part of the reward for it. So I decided to go and harvest those surveys. Guess who's got 2 thumbs and 3 Kuta? This guy!

I havent gotten a survey yet for enchanting but I did get 1 Kuta from an enchanting writ. I still say enchanting is broken because there are no where near enough nodes. It doesnt matter what zone I am in they are too few compared to the other nodes.

I have been doing crafting writs daily since 1.6 with three of my maxed crafting players. I have received only 3 Kutas... I wouldn't describe that as dropping like candy... On the other-hand, I have received about 10 from the hirelings since then.

I have 8 enchanters that are level 45 or above ... all with every enchanting skill point except keen eye ... Pre 1.6 I If i logged in eachtwice a day i got on average 2.5 a day, or 17 a week. Now i am getting less than 1/week from 8 maxed enchanters. I think have gotten 2 or 3 Kuta's since 1.6 was released.

Lately i have quit logging in twice per day .... its barely worth it now.

I found a few good routes to run in coldharbour via the resource tracker and minimap add ons, but it takes a bit of running around to setup and you definitely need the vision passive to see them all in the dark.

Wow, did 4 Enchanting Surveys last night, one survey had 4 Dual Aspects too, the others had the typical 2 to 3. All Ta's except one that gave me two Denata's. I did get one Kuta from the container. Strangely enough, I hit an Aspect node that is in site of the survey location and get a Rekuta....

So, I started 1.6 with 50 Kutas, I now have 52 of them. Used to get 4 to 5 a week just from the hirelings.

I don't like the new system.

Does it really matter if there are fewer Kutas? The enchantment value from Rekuta to Kuta is pretty small. The Kuta scarcity makes them more valuable to sell than to use. I will likely respec out of all my hirelings except provisioning, unless ZO$ makes a change to hirelings. That means my main source for Kuta will be writs. Finding them in the world without intensively farming aspect runes has a very low percentage :(. But, does it really matter?
No actually it is not anymore. I used to use only purple glyph for fire resist even and now I use gold. Much bigger difference between purple and gold armour stats too. I am on phone now - so I would have to double check re weapons.

I have about 1/3 of the time gotten a kuta in writ box never in a survey. I get at least 1 in upper crag per hour to 1.5 hour farming (i eat an hour food and farm for NC and whatever else is there till it runs out but I forget to eat at start sometimes).

Been on EU server for 6 weeks and have 26 Kuta but have used 9 and gave 6 away.

I have no points in hireling since 1.6 because I understand the nerf to be so bad I rather not.

ETA: When I get more than one in an hour in crag I post in Zone Chat 'It's Kutaday in the Crag! Check the aspect nodes!!' I realise it is likely random but it amuses me - so I do it!

All Upper Craglorn Survey Reports have 4 Aspect nodes in them. I have done the Enchanting Writ on at least 1 Character daily since they came out and only one time (pre-1.6) have I received a double Kuta from the Survey. In open world (no it doesn't matter what Zone) the drop rate for Kuta is 1.4%. Sadly that's now something like quadruple what it is for Hirelings. The Enchanting Coffer you get from turning in the Writ has the highest drop rate post 1.6, at around 2.8% or something close to that.

Last night I was getting ready to make some Magic Glyphs, so I was curious about the differences. By rough calculations , going all Kuta vs going all Rekuta will net you about 200 more magic for a full set of 7. That is nothing compared to 19,000 in magic my character has. Fire Resists went from 850 to 1000, again nothing compared to Spell Resist of 14,000 or more on a character.

So, Kuta's are basically not even worth it anymore to use unless you have some to use.

Me i find Kuta's very usefull for enchanting jewerly, especially if i am enchanting with a stam or mag cost reduction, because small changes in Cost add up fast in battle. Also i all ways use Kuta's on Infused major armors and weapon enchants. With Kuta's being more rare now i have stopped enchanting minor pieces of armor with Kuta's. (unless its a gold minor piece & i am 100% sure i will use the armor regularly for a long long time).

Using ur numbers which i did not verify for a VR14 magicka player, 200/19000 is about a 1% magicka increase which is small but not nothing when added to other small increases. Its not just a matter of increasing ur pool of magicka so u dont run out, any magika increases effects tooltip damage and sorc shield size so every small bit of magicka helps.

Anyway i hope my Pvp opponents take ur advice that a 1% increase in any stat is negliable, so why bother.

I've found zero Kuta since 1.6. I've received zero Kuta from eight hirelings and zero from highest level writs. I have 4 vet characters and I take every stone I come across. Kuta are now much, much more rare.

I am sorry to say this, because it is unlikely to help you feel any better about this situation...

... but this really isn't my experience. I have 1 primary V10 Enchanter and 3 sub-vet alts. My Enchanter gets very few Kutas from Hirelings (this is certainly true) but the number he gets from writs and surveys is much improved. From writs themselves I get 3-4 a week (as opposed to 0 before 1.6 hit) and I've had a few come up from Survey nodes (which are doubled, of course).

My current stuck is about double what I had before 1.6 hit and I had been stockpiling them from Day 1 to 1.6 release.

OK, my Enchanters doing Writs have had some Kuta's trickle in. I have one doing L1, one doing L3 and another doing top level writs in enchanting. All 3 of them have gotten a Kuta from a writ container (rarely, but I think they have gotten two each in the past month), each has gotten a Kuta drop from a Survey. But my Kuta count has gone from 60 to 68 since 1.6 dropped.

I am getting a good supply of Rekuta's from the top level hireling, but I think only one Kuta (if even that) from the Hireling emails.

Unfortunately, for me, while I have received maybe 5 or 6 from all of the writs (and I do them with three characters), I have never received Kutas from the surveys, and rarely receive any surveys. For Alchemy it's rare that I don't receive a survey, but with Enchanting it's maybe once/week, if I'm lucky. Also, since 1.6 I've received 1 Kuta from my Lvl3 Hireling and maybe 1 or 2 Rekutas. For the first couple of weeks, I received almost exclusively Tas, along with a handful of Jejotas. The past couple of weeks, either Denatas or no aspect rune AT ALL (from my lvl3 Hireling). Similar to Nestor, my supply of Kutas has gone from about 55 pre-1.6 to 60 post 1.6.

Your reasoning is pretty short sighted. It's not like you are going to be able to have infused on every piece of armor you wear. So in most cases you'll want to maximize your enchants as much as possible and the only way to maximize your build is through kuta and gold tempers. Im at work right now, but your numbers dont seem right. Ill check them later tonight

Your reasoning is pretty short sighted.

No, I just see the Glyphs for what they are.

590 Magic for a Rekuta based Monumental Magic Glyph, 637 for a Kuta based. Since only 3/4 of the armor pieces give you the base value, and 4 of the armor pieces essentially cut the glyph value in half, a full set of 7/8 Glpyhs is going to give you about 200/240 more magic for all 7/8, this is ignoring Infused.

If 200 Magic out of 14,000 or 19,000 or 24,000 or whatever you have is causing you to die, it's not the 200 magic your missing that's killing you. Yes, a Legendary Infused piece might skew the glyph value up some, but still not enough to make any real difference in the game as it is played. Even if you can leverage out another 300 to 400 Magic by going to Kuta's and legendary tempers on infused items, it's still a fraction of a spell being cast that your gaining, and in most cases, a small fraction of the spell being cast.

So, given the difference between using a Glyph the game might replace and a Glyph the game will replace, I will go with Rekuta based Glyphs any day of the week and accept a 200/240 Magic discrepancy. It's not going to make any difference in the outcome of any battle in the game.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
