I haven't seen a single one since 1.6 either, not in writs (directly or from maps) or anywhere else. This also appears to be true for Legendary level improvement mats as well. I get the feeling that ZOS might be trying to force people into high-level endgame play in order to obtain these items. I'm still getting Purples of all kinds, so the Yellows seem to be the target.

@ZOS_GinaBruno, I know this change was mentioned in the release notes, but could you clarify what the intent is? Surely you don't intend to choke off the supply completely?

My Kuta Inflow has dropped significantly since 1.6. Not one from my Hireling (only one enchanter hireling) and two from a Writ, and one I found in a random Node (which makes the 4th one I have ever found that way since release week)

Gold Tempers are also way down. I have 12 L2 Equipment Crafting Hirelings, and 5 L3 Equipment Crafting Hirelings. Since 1.6, I have gotten 5 Gold Tempers of all types. I have received about 20 Purples of all types, and about 25 Blues and Greens of all types. Note, the Blue and Green might be higher than that.

Here is the thing. I have had this list of Hirelings since July 4th. In all that time, I have enough Gold Tempers to make one set of Legendary Cloth or Leather, one set of Metal and several Wooden items. It's not like I was rolling in the Gold Tempers before, as 8 months to be able to make a full set of gear is not that fast anyway.

Now, it would take an average player who would not have as many hirelings as I do, a year or more to be able to make a set of Legendary. If that makes the game better, I am not sure why.

It doesn't seem to be possible to receive Kuta from non-veteran writs, or else I have the most rubbish luck in the world. Can anyone confirm?

Hirelings are pretty bad now. But I've had good luck with the writs and have gotten 4ish Kutas, which is 4/5 writs. RNG...

Does it really matter if there are fewer Kutas? The enchantment value from Rekuta to Kuta is pretty small. The Kuta scarcity makes them more valuable to sell than to use. I will likely respec out of all my hirelings except provisioning, unless ZO$ makes a change to hirelings. That means my main source for Kuta will be writs. Finding them in the world without intensively farming aspect runes has a very low percentage . But, does it really matter?

Ah, I see. Hmm, I've never received a kuta as a writ reward, but then I haven't done very many writs post-1.6

The location is the same (makes it easy to find if you already know where it is) but the wasps are no longer there to bother you. Much improved!

I've gotten 5-6 Kuta since 1.6 doing sub-vet level enchant writs. My crafting level is ~46 in enchanting and I only have 1 point put into hirelings. The glyphs are the lvl 50 (I think) that use the Pora runes. I will definitely confirm Kuta runes will drop from write rewards! Haven't gotten one from a survey map in a while, but that's not too unusual for me.

Today one of my vets got 2 Kuta from a survey node in Crag and 1 Kuta as part of his enchanting writ completion.

Since 1.6 I've been doing the writs just about everyday. I've seen 1 Kuta from hireling. 3 from writ rewards. 10 from surveys. (this maybe a little strange as 1 time I got 6 because all 3 Aspect nodes in survey had Kuta) 4 from normal harvesting.

ZOS told us in advance they were nerfing the legendary mats from hirelings. If you're not getting them on occasion from writs definitely /bug that.

There is no objective answer for this unless we had a look under the hood...and we're not going to get that of course.

And saying what I get is purely dilatory.

I look at the market. On both servers Kutas have jumped in price by 2/3 since the release of version 6. They have become, in my view, prohibitively expense and not worth it compared to Rekutas.

This is not a scientific measure of rarity but a practical one.

Kutas have always been the most expensive of the gold enhancements. Some of this is due to rarity, some due to utility. It takes 8 to fully enchant a suit and weapon to the max. But it takes 8 of one type of gold enhancement to fully buff one piece of armor or one weapon with a 100% chance of success. The Kuta rate of success is always 100% with just the one rune.

But the difference between Kuta and Rekuta is not much. In some cases there is no difference in enchantment power between using a Ta and a Kuta as the aspect rune, e.g. potion cooldown reduction glyphs.

TL;DR - Purple is just fine. So is green below level 25....blue to 50....then start using that higher level stuff.
