dropped prices for stolen armor

Maybe you haven't noticed, in the patch notes they said the selling prices
For stolen armor and weapons will be cut to a third. No more easy 10 k gold
for stealing at the marketplace. Allthough I think it's right to decrease the
amount I will miss it. Not that I abused that too much, but the occasionaly
tour around Davons Watch was quite rewarding.
Well, people on EU server have a day left, so don't get caught!

That was free gold, and some armour/weapons would sell for far more than white and even some green stealables. I have no problem with this.

No generic stealable weapon/armor sold for more than green misc items; two handed weapons sold for the most, then large armor pieces, then one-handed weapons, then small armors always sold for less than white misc items.

Found ones were pretty useless, the stolen ones had the normal value. Sometimes green, rarely blue(not 100% sure about that).

They are not worthless any more. And the higher your level, the more they are worth. There are several places with unguarded racks that are basically free money.

Only white weapons and armor that came out of chests/crates were worthless. Anything on a rack, basically in plain sight in the world had a normal crafted value.

ZOS continuously nerfs the newly implemented thievery business. This is another step on the stairs leading to hell, for an immersive player-run thieves guild. Instead of "buffing" the value of the stolen items, introducing higher level stolen loot, unbinding laundered items, and making pickpocket available against players, they just set up another barrier for this playstyle. I can't understand, why.

Sure. Buff stolen goods. Then when you have a small part of the population sitting on 1 billion effortlessly-made gold and driving up prices because it's all the same for them to pay 5k of 50k gold for a Dreugh Wax, come back and share your thoughts on it again.

If you really want to steal for fun, go loot containers or - god forbid you should risk it - pickpocket people. Those haven't been nerfed. What you REALLY wanted was to go into an armourer/weaponsmith and ransack the tables and weapon racks for an easy dozen items. You wanted instant gratification, not fun.

These things get nerfed because they are unbalanced. Do you think your actions go unnoticed? There are obviously statistics ticking in at ZOS headquarters on what people do in the game, and how much money they make. Big Brother is always watching. The Ideal Masters know what you did yesterday, and they do not approve of you being naughty - at least not quite in that manner.

Really? I didn't know the bolded part. I've only ever stolen any armour on low-level characters, and didn't make a habit of it. I guess I should have been grabbing it with my vet characters and making bank... Oh well, not that I really care. I've always got more gold than I need anyway, so if high levels were able to get too much free gold from this, it's good that they changed it.

Oh man, I haven't tried pickpocketing guards yet - you like to live on the edge don't you? Hmm, I should really level up my Legerdemain, take some pickpocket passives, and start stealing from guards. It does kind of sound like fun, and I used to pickpocket guards all the time in Skyrim...

They probably wouldn't notice the videos if they were busy working on new content or balance fixes instead of wasting time being the butthurt police on social media.

They set the legerdemain value to begin with. It's not our fault some people understand the concept of reverse diffusion and went from areas of low concentration to areas of high concentration. That's why thieves dream of bank vaults and not some random potato set on a table - profitable concentration.

Pickpocketing is getting profitable on my vr 3 chars, I can even pickpocket guards successfully now!
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

I just made that exact point in the patch note thread where people were complaining about the nerf to low level Dwemer ruins that could be endlessly farmed for easy motif pages.

Do stealing harder. Do stealing challenging. I have my very hope that they will lower the chance of success, because it is ridiculous now. But those, who gave up quest-, item- and "end-game-content"-grinding in advance to be a master in thievery, they should be rewarded for their efforts. ZOS should change things that way, to be a THING, belonging to a thieves guild. Give us really valuable loot. Why are all the pickable item level 1 (tier I?) ? Why isn't there a difference between pickpocketed items, if you got them from a poor, easy target, or from a wealthy, hard "client"? Why isn't a bit of "spirit" behind this activity, why is this just "another skill line"?

They haven't lowered the value of items that you pickpocket from NPCs with this patch, just the value of armor and weapons that were appearing in extremely easy-to-loot locations.

That was way before this patch and I wasn't discussing that.

My personal take on this is that people like free gold and ZOS took it away from them. I can live with this change. Your opinion is different, and that's ok.

Sure. They lowered the value of pickpocketed items, then smart thieves went to steal from the racks :) Everything is in connection with another. I am not smart, I didn't steal from racks. So now, as they lowered the value of "racks", have they increased the value of the pickpocketed ones? No. That is the question.

Sorry, this was just a joke :)

Another idea: make stolen/pickpocketed items purchasable/tradeable, and make some of them a daily quest-objective for "end-game" quests. So HC endgamers should come to us, asking to rob something. This is a dream, never becoming true.

V14 stolen 2 handed weapons and shields sold for 74g.
    Chest peices sold for 51g
single handed weapons for about 45g

The found green items sold for 100g

    The blue ones for 250g

It was still far better to find the green items than it was the weapons and armor.

It still doesn't change the fact that for those people who want to level up the skill line via low risk ways can still do it rather quickly.

If ZOS thinks this is going to change anything, they are dead wrong.

    This is my main concern.

Looting 140 Two handed weapons a day was a quick way for me to bank gold and go level another character; several people seem to be arguing that just looting greens is only a small increased investment of time(an exaggeration, obviously, or the luckiest rng grouping on the server, I get greens but not 140 in less than 2-4 hours of scouring); if that's really the case, then there was no need for this nerf. If easily made gold via Legerdemain is an issue and 140 greens are so easily come by, then more nerfs will be incoming.

Some others argue that the easily made gold would skew market prices, devaluing it and driving up prices simply because people could scoff at inflated prices for tempers or endgame gear. These people fail to realize that many players already sit on several hundred thousand gold or more - that the in demand end game items already sit in guild stores for 100k-200k per item.

I have yet to see a reasonable argument for why this change was necessary.
