Really? I didn't know the bolded part. I've only ever stolen any armour on low-level characters, and didn't make a habit of it. I guess I should have been grabbing it with my vet characters and making bank... Oh well, not that I really care. I've always got more gold than I need anyway, so if high levels were able to get too much free gold from this, it's good that they changed it.driosketch wrote: »
On my level 12 boots were 10gp, other items could range into the lower 20s. Sometimes you'd get a random green which might sell for more than the 30gp of white theft items.Haxnschwammer wrote: »Staffs, greatswords, cuirass, I think I sold them for 74 per piece at vet 14. This is my main concern.
If ZOS thinks this is going to change anything, they are dead wrong.
Looting 140 Two handed weapons a day was a quick way for me to bank gold and go level another character; several people seem to be arguing that just looting greens is only a small increased investment of time(an exaggeration, obviously, or the luckiest rng grouping on the server, I get greens but not 140 in less than 2-4 hours of scouring); if that's really the case, then there was no need for this nerf. If easily made gold via Legerdemain is an issue and 140 greens are so easily come by, then more nerfs will be incoming.
Some others argue that the easily made gold would skew market prices, devaluing it and driving up prices simply because people could scoff at inflated prices for tempers or endgame gear. These people fail to realize that many players already sit on several hundred thousand gold or more - that the in demand end game items already sit in guild stores for 100k-200k per item.
I have yet to see a reasonable argument for why this change was necessary.
Well, you can pay a crafter to make you a full set of Yellow Armor and Weapons for about 350k, depending on your tastes in Jewelry you could spend as little as 10k there for nice Purple stuff. Any VR14 should be able to amass that amount of gold.
On topic - I thought they were going to do this a long time ago. I made quite a bit of gold looting white armor racks and that was just on a VR1 as my primary thief. I suppose people could have millions just from thieving by now if I kept at it, but I slacked off after maxing Legerdemain out. In any case this change was more than justified imo.

i was taking my time and only going out stealing for fun when i needed gold.... cant have that can we zos. thanks for fixing my gameplay
If you really want to steal for fun, go loot containers or - god forbid you should risk it - pickpocket people. Those haven't been nerfed. What you REALLY wanted was to go into an armourer/weaponsmith and ransack the tables and weapon racks for an easy dozen items. You wanted instant gratification, not fun.
