Really ZOS, Justice is so lame it hurts

I just spent 15 minutes on several characters while muliing stuff, they were in various 1-50 banks. In every place there were players stealthed picking chests RIGHT IN FRONT ON THE NPCs and getting away with it.

Really ZOS, do you actually think this is IMMERSIVE and worthwhile content? Do you REALLY think this is what Justice in TES is supposed to be?

Repercussion-free theft and murder, it's beyond pathetic, it really is. Is this REALLY what you intended to deliver?

Oh no, ZOS has delivered a most wonderful and worthy Justice system! Everyone loves it!

you do realize that if the player is caught, the game wont let them out of the bank and the guards will kill them.

You can just ignore the players, heck sometimes its fun watching people get chased down by town guards:)

Maybe their intent was to make the Justice system reflect the system we have in the real world. Politicians and CEOs blatantly steal every day with little or no repercussions. Just a thought...

I think it's a blast and it's just the tip of the iceberg for what's to come (in a few years).

This is just phase of the justice system, so hopefully we´ll see it expanded on...

The guards actually need their detection range increased slightly as it´s currently too easy to steal.
The bounty decays too fast, especially the fugitive from the law status.
Vampires & werewolves are still allowed in cities, I´d wish to see vampires in the advanced stages of vampirism to be attacked by the guard. Same goes for werewolves when they transform in front of witnesses.

If you get caught stealing something inside a building, and you choose to flee, it's over. Even if you pop invisibility potions, it's still over, the guard will keep attacking you and I'm pretty sure you can't open doors while one is active. There is simply no possible way to escape. Frankly, why can't all doors in the game work like the thieves refuge ones do? Can guarantee if a guard is chasing me I'm gonna slam through that door, not stand in place and slowly open it as he stabs me. Or at the very least, why aren't invisibility potions a viable option?

      Pickpocketing is Lame
The reward isn't worth the risk. You run a heavy risk of getting caught to get a few white or green items, or you can steal weapons / loot containers with pretty much no risk at all and get greens, blues, and purples.

Stealing from containers, or stealing weapons laying around, really is just ridiculously easy. You're basically guaranteed a set amount of money each day. I can loot every container in Wayrest castle, log out, and repeat the process without so much as breaking a sweat. Some people might like that, some might not, just pointing it out.

      Incentive for Stealing?

If we nerf the value of container loot, people will just go grind mobs instead. If we raise the difficulty, the current value isn't really worth the effort. Either way I fear it would negatively impact the economy. Instead of tying everyhting to gold, why not make it so you can loot and pickpocket unique and interesting items? Clothing is a good step in this direction.

The game doesn't completely phase out hidden players for everyone, right? So even if you see a player in a darkened stealth state, his or her status may indicate he or she is invisible.

A Bosmer with Stealthy Rank II and a VR invisibility potion can get away with a lot. But if you pay attention to simple geometry and object design in the game you can get away with a lot, too. And other players will get butthurt, but whatever. Part of immersion is having a superior strategy that gives you a feeling of accomplishment.

The line of sight aspect is hilarious. Sometimes just to assume myself I walk directly toward an npc thats beside dresser or chest, walk behind them (or really just step to the side) proceed to crouch and steal. These npcs have the worst tunnel vision, guess there arent alot of eye docs around.

Some people are NEVER happy, are they?

I'm not particularly known for positive posts (after all, most people will come to the forums when they have an axe to grind, right?) but the tone of the OP is something else...

The justice system lets you steal, break & enter, lockpick chests and strongboxes, murder people and cattle. It offers some passives that are only of interest to mischievous actions, but others that are useful throughout the game. There are achievements for the completionists. Your actions DO have repercussion - try failing at pickpocketing, or stealing from a crate just as the NPC nearby happens to turn around and sees you. Is it perfect? Far from it. But "pathetic" and "so lame it hurts"? You must have very high expectations.

I'd go further and say let all doors work normally EXCEPT for the refuge. If I were a thief, I'd slit the throat of anyone that dared walk into the refuge with guards on their heels. But I suppose the unkillable guards are afraid of raiding the places... :)

The risk is more or less proportional to the reward. Easy targets will have mostly whites and the odd greens, hard targets will have better rewards. Also, given the little to no effort required, I think much higher rewards would flood the economy with gold from fencing. I'm already making tons of gold every day just by stealing from containers as I do my crafting writs.

You've just described every other grind in the game. If you want to use your game time looting containers, go ahead! But I agree that sometimes the NPC paths could be improved in order to make stealing a little more challenging.

Loot value was already nerfed, IIRC. The true value of stealing right now is the chance to get rare motifs/recipes. The economy will adjust to the new, reduced drop rates of those items to reflect the time required and the risk.

      I suspect sarcasm.

Anyway, you think Justice System is that bad, you should go to Bleakrock after Covenant invades. Literally, free stealable stuff on silver platters. It's almost DYING for an exploit mark, but we'll see what Zeni's take on it is.

So what, if any, changes would you propose? I have a feeling you're more than happy to complain about the current system but that you have no constructive feedback on how to improve on it.

From many of your posts, it seems you're more than happy to wail about something but offer no insight on how you think it could be (objectively and realistically) made better.

In other words, it seems you love to complain for the same of complaining.
