Yes, you did not stay loyal to the game. Sounds harsh but thats what loyalty programs do.

There was never any mention until a month before that the loyalty program would end/take account the exact amount of time for rewards. Some people have obligations to their family, the military, financial concerns, etc. I think the way the program was terminated was unfair, and I am voicing my opinion on it.
How long should they give people consideration for if a month isn't long enough? Two months? Why not six months? A year? Everyone has "reasons" why they can't do one thing or another. It's not ZOS' responsibility to make exceptions for every single person in every single circumstance.

They knew that they were going Buy to Play for quite a while, and Ii believe if they had announced then that the loyalty rewards would be going away with the release of Tamriel Unlimited, that would of been great. After all, they did announce that subscriptions would continue, so a reasonable assumption would be that the loyalty program would continue as well. Heck, if they had notified everyone in January I would of been happy. But they decided to wait until a month before the program was to end, and only reported it on the website, not in an email to subscribers. I did not find out until it was too late, and I am upset about it, because I think I had a pretty good track record of supporting the game.
ZOS has a terrible track record of communicating with their customers. Just this week, Console owners found out that there would be no keyboard support for consoles, despite two reassurances (one as early as last Thursday) and a support link stating they would. While this might sound like a non issue for you, I have a friend that already preordered the game that cannot cancel it from the Playstation Store (you apparently pay full price less 10% to buy a game on preorder, but can't cancel it), who is deaf, and will have no way to communicate in the game who based his opinion to buy the game on the support article stating he would be able to use a keyboard to communicate.
It is ridiculous that they discontinued this, as people who had accumulated payed time in anticipation of the final rewards will never get them. It is essentially a big "*** you" to all but the most loyal (read: insane) fans who payed every month since day 1.
I suggest that they become available through Plus membership or purchasable store items.
I think a simple "thank you" is good enough. You got what you paid for already.
You should have been more proactive. Many of us were and we got the info and acted in plenty of time. And if you were loyal the entire time you wouldn't have this issue.

I contacted ZOS because I was sure they would make an exception, after all I had after bought the Imperial Edition, 270 days of paid game time (not including the 30 free days). Hell I even bought the $100 ESO Book Collection (which is very nice BTW). I never received a response to my first ticket, and after 3 weeks I submitted another. After a week, I receive a polite, but firm response that said they would not add the item under any circumstances as the loyalty program had ended, and they were not capable of adding it to my account. The current policy would not be changed or bended for anyone (although it was implied that maybe the policy could change in the future).
My response was to please see that my complaint was forwarded to the the person who made the policy, and the notice that I would neither resubscribe, or spend another dime on ESO until the policy was changed to offer some flexibility, or to reinstate the loyalty program. I was told they would forward my email to the person who was in charge, but have not heard anything back (and I doubt I will).
What bothers me the most is that had they told us earlier about the required 300 days, I would not have let me subscription lapse for the three weeks.
If anyone else feels the same way as I do, I implore you to open a ticket and express your problems with the end of the loyalty system. You won't get your mount, but you may just help convince them how big of a mistake they have made. To treat their most loyal customers (well–near most, the most did get the mount I suppose) this way is simply unacceptable. And to be honest, the policy makes no sense, by continuing the loyalty program, and adding extra bennies accounts, they encourage players to keep their subscriptions active. Many games use this model successfully.

No, actually no one has yet gotten what they payed for. We paid for a game that is relatively bug free. (did not get that) We paid for a game that has decent concepts and systems in place. (Did not get that either, they have already had to scrap several systems and re-write them) We payed for a product that is stable and does not crash or lag out. (Several crashes a day and crushing lag in PvP)
Do you think ZOS should thank us for being stupid consumers and blindly giving them money for this failed product? Actually, yeah, they SHOULD thank us for that...

Grid, you are just talking over my issues and are coming across as "I got it you didn't too bad". You also seem to be somewhat upset that they made any exceptions at all. I hope you enjoy the game for as long as it is active, because if ZOS keeps making decisions like this, they are are going upset more and more of their player base, which is going to cause them to stop supporting it.
You payed to play-test a game that nearly every MMO player was saying was going to go F2P/B2P in a year, not our fault you did not listen........
Nice try. Actually I didn't pay anything, the first month was free. I'm speaking on behalf of others who payed for it, but won't ever get to see the later rewards.
