The Justice System is broken...

I get caught looting, get a bounty, finish looting, log out and log into another char until bounty on original char clears, log back into 1st char and loot again.

In my opinion, the system is broken because there is no lasting consequences. It doesn't matter that is is "Working as intended", it still doesn't do anything other than let there be an easy effortless way to make 5000 - 10000 gold in an hour without having to leave a good city. With just 2 chars.

Although I know it is a totally different type of game, Eve online has a type of permanent reputation system that I think the Devs should look at and see if there is something similar they can implement.

If people think the Justice System isn't working now, just wait until open world PvP is added into the mix, if it ever is, nothing like PvP for generating complaints especially open world PvP. Thieves and murderers won't like it, even PvPers who want to be Enforcers will find something to complain about, they alway do.

Personally I hope PvP never comes outside of Cyrodil, let there be proper PvE penalties for PvE crimes in PvE areas. In that respect I'm all for some form of long-term reputational damage that can't simply be paid off.

In archeage they had a jail system. It was all fun and games until I got sentenced for 18 hours that only counts time your logged in.
Im okay with no jail system now

@Scamandros Does Archeage allow for prison breaks? A jail system is good, it just need methods in place to prevent unnecessay frustration.

In any case ESO needs more dire consequences for going criminal, the way the system operates now is too lax.

OMG what's the point of going to jail if you can break out?
What's the point of being able to do crimes if there is no consequence?
Why are people expecting to use air effects without turning off accidental NPC?
Why do people not understand cause and effect?

Is anyone actually 18 playing this game?

@NewBlacksmurf What is wrong with breaking out of prison?

It needs to be done Skyrim-style of course, you have to pick the lock, avoid guards, etc.In addtion I´d make bounties stay for longer. so that being a wanted criminal actually feels that way.

@Kendaric it's the whole concept that we are not playing a single player game.
It should not work like Skyrim as that whole logic is based on a game with "one" hero not many.

Going to jail in an MMO if implemented should work like research in crafting. You actually go to jail and stay there for "x" amount of hours or days or weeks based on the severity of the crime.

Breaking out of jail would involve "other" real players sneaking in, thus breaking the law, breaking players out and somehow not being killed by the guards. Players would be grieving about loosing I game armor and weapons and spend a ton of time trying to steal back items lost from being arrested thus increasing their bounties to ungodly amounts which in turn end up with a ton of players in a few categories

1 tons of people end up jailed for weeks with no gear (so they quit playing the game)
2. Players refuse to help anyone break out DueTo the penalty of such crimes or they don't won't to be killed by guards
3. This focus takes even more players away from the world and drastically impacts others experiences negatively

In an MMO when something like this comes in...like the Justice system...it tends to distract from the MMO aspect rather than add to it. Since implemented you have more players complaining about the consequences rather than celebrating the experiences. You have more players complaining about more solo content and experiences that allow them to not have to play or interact with others

There could be more time spent on bugs and content or even finishing up removing VR or console release and more DLC

That's why they said the justice system is being introducing in PHASES. This is only phase 1 out of who knows how many. This was just to get the basics down which they do

Part of what you are realizing also ties in with the moral choices in this game. The system rewards treating the world poorly. Additionally the system encourages it through use of achievements.
