I fit in neither category this poll allows for.

The moment you bring a system in that allows it, it will effect the ingame market as people will start selling items at stupid prices to make enough money to buy crowns that are being sold for stupid amounts. What ends up happening is the quest rewards and item value sold to vendors become completely useless and the only means of making money is the AH. Then you have to compete with people who has more time on there hands and like to play the AH. And you can't even buy simple gear for less than an arm and a leg, even if the intention was to deconstruct or wear.
Whenever real world financial strength starts influencing the financial means your character has, it will screw the game's economy. Because it essentially becomes gold-buying (with 1 step added). No one would approve of buying gold directly from the crownstore - allowing a system like this is no different.

I would love to see the option to gift Crowns to other players.
I'd probably do a lot of Christmas and birthday shopping there.

The only way it would work without destroying the economy would be if ZOS controlled the market the same way that ANet does in GW2.
WTS 2500 crowns 300k gold. pst!
I'm confused: are we talking about buying crowns with real money and then sending them to another person, or buying crowns with in-game gold? A lot of people seem to be talking about the effect this will have on the economy within the game, but as long as crowns can only be bought with real money (or via a subscription bought with real money) and the items are all bound I can't see how it would have any impact.
Sure people might offer to transfer crowns to someone in return for them sending in-game gold. But surely that would be handled the same way as existing gold seller tactics are.
