I honestly wonder what sort of patience or achievement ratio they must have in real life, if some mere points are too much of a challenge to overcome.
As usual Elloa is correct. But these threads. Ugh >_<

Some things need to have work to be achieved. If it was capable of being completed in a single evening, then where's the fun in that?
Man, you self-proclaimed "gimme stuff now" people are annoying. Can't you tell the difference between working towards a goal and masochistic/tedius.

Doing the things IS the experience, they don't just give experience.
I used your words because I'm tired of people with "gimme insta now!" attitudes.
I bet you used every cheat code you could find to "win" at single player games.
Did you feel lonely when your friends gathered together at school and talked about how many attempts it took them to finally get through that one really hard, difficult part of level 213 of your fav game? What did you say when they each shared the lil special tip they did to earn their way past? Did you say "I pressed Control+Z+123", or did you make a story up?

Let me be clear: I have no problem with a game that rewards time and effort. Players who have put more time into the game should be able to gain advantages for all that effort. But 3600 point is just too much: it is a deterrent to anyone thinking of buying or playing the game to think that they will have to grind for literally years to get anywhere close to the more experienced players. At least with VR, the grind eventually ended; with CP, it virtually never will.
But maybe I am in the minority. What do you think?
I have no idea how anyone has voted NO so far.
3600 pts at roughly 2 a day let's say, that's 1800 days, or 4.9 years. How the flip is that not too much grind?
coz ur not supposed to gain CP as a goal. ur supposed to enjoy the actual content, and CP is just a bonus reward for enjoying those content.
Huggernaut wrote: »That isn't true at all. People restrict others from joining groups for content based on how many CP they have earned. If something is in the game, and getting more of that something increases the overall effectiveness of your character ... people are going to expect others to go out and get it.
It's as simple as that.
Heck even one of my guilds won't let you do trials without at least 90 CP minimum. Which, granted isn't a ton ... but the restriction is still there and the fact that people are starting to make restrictions already based on CP, means it's only going to get worse as time goes on.
Eventually people will be shouting for x level & 500 CP minimum, or 1000 CP, or etc, etc.
The goal of an alternative advancement system isn't just to make some ludicrous long term goal that no one is ever supposed to achieve. The point of an AA system is to allow the player a deeper level of customization. A way to truly call a character their own.
Spending 5 years grinding out champion points isn't even remotely feasible in my book.
At the end of the day though, 400k per point is a little much, at least with what we currently have to work with.
@david.haypreub18_ESO
You do know this game is a mmorpg which mean thing should take time to complete nothing is suppose to done over a weekend and the sooner people understand this the will also understand it take time to do thing.

To those people who voted no, you are either insane or love to play only 1 character. As it stands now, its impossible to try out a different character with a different build as you need to go through the crazy grindwall again. What is the point of having so many different builds available only to be stuck with one?
