The problem is that we arent good with stamina build either. Nb and Dk are mutch better.
We are still the best healers (even we had been nerfed quite a bit here) but the worst offensive Pvp class and in 1v1 we are lost.
As i can play the healer its ok for me but i started the class because it was said; you can heal and play a viable dam class.
I dont want to have the best DPS, then i would have choosen an other class, but i want a build that can stand against other classes in 1v1.
In 1.5. I could win against every class in 1v1 as stam and as magikca temp, even agaist Dks. The skill of the people made the difference.
In 2.0... i dont see a chance. Sure i win against noobs, but a skilled sorc or Nb just kills me.

i know one who does quite well and swears by several of his templar specific skills (other than just jesus beam).

another who "loves just chucking spears and locking down people" was met recently.

i myself find its quite easy to heal through most damage in PvP on a Mage build..

Yeah, this stuff has crazy bad design. You're giving all the enemies free Immovable, making it impossible to cc anyone. It's not only frustrating for the actual templar, but ruins gameplay for allies to. They cant use strong cc like Fear, because one temptard tool is spamming Jabs.

That's why stamina templar aren't that good either, Jabs does more harm than good if you slot it. Like sorcerer they lack viable class skills with a stam morph for PvP. For sure you can be decent with only weapon skills + vigor/rally. But not as good or fun as a class that has great class morphs, like stamblade.

Topic: Magicka templar cant kill anything. There's just no skills to slot, while magicka dps overall under-performs. Dark Flare is a poor version of CF without instant cast. Puncturing Sweep gives all enemies free cc immunity. Eclipse bugs you out. Toppling Charge still has gcd and locks you out of using skills for a second or so. Spears just doesn't work 1v1, since you lack roots. Jesus Beam is good for stealing KB's, but nothing that makes you competitive in anyway.

You're only good at playing heal/support in groups. Was always the case for templars I guess. So not surprised how the big "balancing" patch didn't change a thing. But I never expected it to get worse. At least we had moments in the past where the class was good 1v1, now that's gone to.

I already have a damage meter installed. I suppose my DK is only vet4 so is not really fair to compare, but my Sorcerer deals between 8-12k damage and my Templar 16-18k on average. They have both reached higher figures of course, but the average numbers are always better for my Templar

16-18k on Templar is not sustainable at all. Grats on getting a nice AoE burst on those trash mobs, though.

I would say its sustainable, as my final number on a boss in a vet dungeon was just over 18k last week. As long as you have the right sets on and use the right skills, its pretty easy. I don't really care if anyone believes me or not, I have no reason to lie about it

But even so it doesnt change the fact that we suck in pvp.

This is certainly not true!
I'm a magicka Templar and I do pretty well for myself even though I'm only VR6 at the moment. Sure, sometimes a few of my skills are buggy, but for the most part I can hold my own. Perhaps this is more of a L2P issue?
