Roll up another character if you don't like race. Or when the passives change in a big patch - then pay attention to what skills you choose when you re-allocate your skill points.

I suspect it's like jazz ... if you don't get it, then no explanation is needed. If you don't, then no explanation will suffice.
But for the sake of clarity:
1-I haven't gotten to v1 yet, much less 14.
2-name change will open the door to trolls getting unwarranted "second chances" (well considering how careful/slow any actions are taken by GMS - which is probably a good thing - more likely 4th/5th chances). If you want a name change because you are wanting to actually play a character that you rolled up as a mule - I have no sympathy for your lack of forethought (and was mecilessly mocking of a friend's after-the-fact dismay at having named a character "Mulesalix the Second").
3-Race change ... so far that I have seen has been associated with the "I must maximize/optimize my build" "OMG X has nerfed racial passives" "RP'ers are in my way" which has also (in my probably way too limited experience) been associated with rampant PvP including crapping on PvE players. Or to put it another way, if there is that little respect for the immersion/lore of the game 'verse, than I'm going to figure little resepect for other players - and I'm tired of getting mopped in Cyrodiil by crabby trigger-happy folks with infinetly optimized builds. I'm here to play with the world, in the world - and not jsut focus on who/how many I can kill.
Which, really I can't (much). I get that I am a poor choice, both skill and apptitude-wise for a PvP game or any kind of war. I would be one of the nameless faceless multitudes who get killed in droves while the few lucky/skilled "heroes" survive. I have no desire to play that out. If there were a way to "serve in wartime" in Cyrodiil in some non-combatant way (rescue operations for persons rendered homeless, or some sort of healer thing) I might be tempted. Or something based on freeing slaves (think Twin Lamps in Morrowind which was WAAY underdeveloped).
anyway....

Ridiculous. I don't get why you have to oppose if other players want to maximize their possibility in the game. Racial passive changes have affected some races negatively, such as argonians, and it wasn't their lack of forethought, they all started newbies and they had to perceive the mechanisms of the game in order to be able to maximize their build.
Most of your arguments are invalid cry-outs, stopping those veterans that are playing the game competitively. The game has changed in every way in one year, many classes had to adopt to magicka-based builds as DDs before stamina based builds were buffed in many patches. Now even class skills have stamina morphs. They opened many possibilities that people want to try out, but they lack behind in many aspects, such as the stamina regeneration for a redguard makes it very easy to maintain stamina, but I challenge you to do the same with a breton.
You can continue your role-playing in the game, and probably those who take it seriously won't change their races. However in my opinion you are simply inexperienced in the game as you mentioned that you are getting mopped on the floor in cyrodiil, and trying to hold people back who want to improve, by protesting race change. Just don't be that guy.
Whhhat is wrong with wanting to optimize your build?
Are you all some pve role players or something?
Whhhat is wrong with wanting to optimize your build?
I am a pvp player and i dont like the look of my character annymore and i want a more suitable race for my playstyle.
I cba grinding my way to vr14 annymore as i just wont spend 1 month again grinding and grinding and than 1 week later they remove the veteran ranks.
I am a pure pvp player and i dont enjoy pve at all, so why should it be forbidden for people to pay for a race change if they want to and dont want to grind a second character?
Its still a mmo and as some people say if they wanna make some profit on this new buy2play system they should add options like this to the game as the current items/costums in the crown store are just not worth it to spend money on.

I would pay easy 25euro just for a race change.

No just no - why should i reroll 12 months worth of investment because some jumped up dev decided 1.6 was a good idea?
Race change is a must if sweeping changes are frequent.

There are sometimes good reasons for changing your name (I would not mind adding a surname to one of my characters) and sometimes a good reason for changing your gender (but the psychological and physical hard work that goes with that is really something else).
Changing your race? Changing who you are? Changing your character's background and culture totally?
I'm a big no to that.
You don't just get to change these things if they prove difficult in life. Why be able to change it in game?

The unexpected results could be implemented With an in-game race change too - such as removing all achievements, resetting all quests, and bumping the toon back to Level 1 in the Coldharbour cell.

ONE AND ONLY change within characters created should be regarding their looks.
Anything else is a part of character planning while creation.
Since you can play ANY race/class in thousands (or even more) possible ways argument about race is totally invalid.
I'm playing Nightblade as Tank, Healer, Stamina DPS and planning to try out magicka DPS too.
NOT having some racial passives suitable for tanking/healing doesn't make me ANY WEAKER
You just simply don't use them. it's not like racials give some king of god-like advantage anyway.
Looks like some players have kinda broken-demanding-way of approaching this game.
It doesn't matter, that you can PAY for it
ZOS needs to make sure, that game systems and all the rules make all players EQUAL
You're NOT special in any way. Others didn't like their characters ...deleted! Created new ones.
It's not like you can go buy a CAR and after few months bring it back, announce you will PAY for engine change because (for some reason) you don't like the sound it makes
Demanding services completely useless to the MAJORITY of players is simply pointless.
...think about it
