Out of curiosity, was it the same type of letters that appear when there's an announcement that the server goes down in 15/10/5 minutes or that the crown store is currently unavailable for maintenance?

Huge, bright yellow, irritating, annoying, tacky, slimy, putrid message.

With this particular barrel? Yep. Unless you've been seeing full screen ads popping up before this while playing.
Nah, I just don't differentiate barrels. : P
ZOS has been scraping the bottom for a while now. It's not like they're going to be writing any books on ethical treatment of their player base any time soon.

Dear god, man, then how do you keep track of which barrels have fish that need to be shot?
This is a new low, though. I suppose everyone who's been in the, "you can't trust anything they say," or, "how do you know a ZoS is lying? Their posting on the forums," crowd can get to say, "told you so." But... ugh.

One barrel. All the shots.

It wasn't just in chat, it was also splashed across the screen like any other System message. More than once.

Yeah, I get that. I was just thinking back to the Z icon thing that is supposed to prevent people from pretending to be ZOS and saw that the screen capture did not have that.
Also, I do not know if the splash message is protected or if any add-ons can access it, but this has me wondering. Not that this might have been faked, but wondering if it can be.

Apparently "National Pet Day" is an American thing, because of course it is.
Anyone know what tomorrow is? National popcorn day?

It can be
Edit: however, the lack of an official denial makes me think it wasn't.

We need an addon that blocks any system message which includes the words "crown store."
I'd like to see on screen messages like "we've got rid of all lag from PVE and PVP, we stabilised FPS thorough the game and everything is now super stable, enjoy" lol... Otherwise this Crown Store advertising is unacceptable

Quit trying to whittle down our accumulated crowns with impulse buys before the good stuff comes out.
For a while there I thought I was the only one who caught onto this.

What I WOULD get upset about is if it just opened the crown store when you logged in, while they shouted about the items. Some mmos do that. This one does not.
It's not that big of a deal, and it is already over. Relax people.
