Khaldar✭✭✭Well... Whoever announced that message should lay off those kind of announcements. Because it wasn't well received in game. I didn't see one person in any of my guilds or in zone chat say something positive. Now, I can see if they offered some 1 day discount or something and were throwing in an ad. But, just announcing that came off as "buy our pets please."
And I shouldn't be forced to turn off system messages like server coming down, crown store coming down, etc, etc just to avoid sales messages. Next thing you know they will be spamming my phone with sales texts.6 -

Hope you're right. I can't help but think about ZOS openly recognizing our frustration over raid notifications, yet their response to them in terms of resolving doesn't match. No, this is not the end of the world. My biggest concern is that it seems like the ESO cheese factor is increasing vs. decreasing. For example, the art on our launcher used to be really nice and now there's cheesy images of a lady drinking from a cup. Anyway...It's a one day thing, guys, it'll be gone before you know it.

✭✭✭✭✭I'm more annoyed that they mention/celebrate national pet day, an earth pseudo-holiday, when they don't mention or celebrate Tamrielic holidays and just completely ignored the 1 year anniversary on April 4th.
To me THAT worries me much more than an advertisement prompt.What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

The issue is that they are not doing Halloween, Christmas, New Year, Easter, whatever holidays, due to Lore... but National Pet Day, that is OK, Lore friendly, and Crown Store relevant.

Testing the waters most likely. If people had not responded negatively, and more importantly, it had increased cash shop sales, then you'd be seeing more ads like this. As the response has been less than positive (dunno the affect it had on cash shop sales though) ZOS will hopefully take this on board and go with a more subtle approach. Time will tell I suppose.

I must have been really unobservant, it only popped up once for me at precisely 1 PM PDT while In cyrodiil today. I didn't mind it, the message made me chuckle.
