Was it because your Emperor was too busy Jesus Beaming from behind everyone, sniping AP?

As you should be able to tell, none of us who were in that fight are particularly accusatory- this is a problem that clearly affects every faction. It can be (and is) caused by all factions at some point, and there needs to be some sort of solution found for it. In the current state, an emperor cannot properly defend against superior numbers due to the lag, even if their group is capable of surviving. Once the lag gets to a certain point, the fight becomes irrelevant. This shouldn't happen to anybody.
I'm no expert on programming, so I can't give insight into WHY this happens, or what I would change to fix it. Even so, Something's gotta give. @ZOS_BrianWheeler got any input for us?

Errrm, let's point out the exact reverse happened when you "crowned Picard emp at about 10pm eastern time" at ales. Plenty of DC there, and then lag, EP had more bodies, and keep is lost.
It's just dumb, totally agree, but let's not go throwing stones in glass houses and all that
Guild of Shadows crowned Picard emp at about 10pm eastern time. Eventually the blue ball of doom pushed us to Chalman for the last stand.
At least 80 DC vs about 40 EP, was a really good fight until inner breached. Then things got quite hilarious.
GoS + Emperor on the back flag of the keep, 20 strong, alive for 20+ minutes, through emp deposition via force flip, and 50+ DC on top of us raining AOE everywhere.
Literally, this has to stop ZOS. This is the second time in two weeks flags have flipped with the active reigning emperor present, not dead, a whole group to support him, damage not registering, and the group being deposed being alive inside of an enemy keep for almost 20 minutes after the fact.
Video incoming shortly from someone in the guild.

Sigh... Waking up at 4:30am causes me to miss all the fun.
Vortex, why are you always stuck in the ground?

I strongly attribute that to rampant meteor spam and the fact that everyone and their literal mom in DC is using it. I saw it go off so many times the interior was literally lit up eye-blinding white. It was funny and surreal and silly.
I mentioned the incident to a friend of mine and he says one way another high-population pvp-based game, EVE online, handles the lag is their 'time-dialation' technology where they slow down action to distribute the strain across all players. That's how you see crazy battles such as the Battle of Asakai.
I wonder if ESO could accomplish something similar by terming it a "Dragon-Break" where the stress of so many people basically warps time and space, putting incredible stress on Akatosh. However many people are in the area are basically pulled through time and space into a pocket realm, similar to what happens to Alduin in the ancient Dragon War.
As much as I love pvp and ESO for being a superior game to any other MMO I've played, they're trying to do alot of stuff ahead of their time. They themselves said the tech doesn't exist to have the big battles they invisioned, at least not yet, so for now they'll have to make do with what they can get. Either better server equipment or ways to distribute the strain.
And DC for *** sake was it THAT necessary for you to bring THAT many people into CHalman at the same time on the same spot no less?

Welcome how to how the major campaigns have felt for months. Almost every emp deposition on thorn had lag and flag stacking involved and at leas 75% of the time the flags flipped w/ emps still on them. Its nothing new and its just the way the game works. You have to play around the lag and find the most effective skills to use during it in order to survive.
