Deposing Jean Luc Picard on Azuras Star NA - 15 minutes later, still alive on the flag

Guild of Shadows crowned Picard emp at about 10pm eastern time. Eventually the blue ball of doom pushed us to Chalman for the last stand.

At least 80 DC vs about 40 EP, was a really good fight until inner breached. Then things got quite hilarious.

GoS + Emperor on the back flag of the keep, 20 strong, alive for 20+ minutes, through emp deposition via force flip, and 50+ DC on top of us raining AOE everywhere.

Literally, this has to stop ZOS. This is the second time in two weeks flags have flipped with the active reigning emperor present, not dead, a whole group to support him, damage not registering, and the group being deposed being alive inside of an enemy keep for almost 20 minutes after the fact.

Video incoming shortly from someone in the guild.

That might actually be a valid argument if radiant oppression or channeled skills in general worked in a lagfest like that. No one was dying on either side. Go take your sour grapes elsewhere.

Errrm, let's point out the exact reverse happened when you "crowned Picard emp at about 10pm eastern time" at ales. Plenty of DC there, and then lag, EP had more bodies, and keep is lost.

It's just dumb, totally agree, but let's not go throwing stones in glass houses and all that :hushed:

I know Agrippa said he's exprienced enough of that to last a lifetime but I've never seen something like that before, not even that one time when we had all three poplocked factions at the last emp keep on Haderus. I strongly attribute that to rampant meteor spam and the fact that everyone and their literal mom in DC is using it. I saw it go off so many times the interior was literally lit up eye-blinding white. It was funny and surreal and silly.

I mentioned the incident to a friend of mine and he says one way another high-population pvp-based game, EVE online, handles the lag is their 'time-dialation' technology where they slow down action to distribute the strain across all players. That's how you see crazy battles such as the Battle of Asakai.

I wonder if ESO could accomplish something similar by terming it a "Dragon-Break" where the stress of so many people basically warps time and space, putting incredible stress on Akatosh. However many people are in the area are basically pulled through time and space into a pocket realm, similar to what happens to Alduin in the ancient Dragon War.

As much as I love pvp and ESO for being a superior game to any other MMO I've played, they're trying to do alot of stuff ahead of their time. They themselves said the tech doesn't exist to have the big battles they invisioned, at least not yet, so for now they'll have to make do with what they can get. Either better server equipment or ways to distribute the strain.

And DC for *** sake was it THAT necessary for you to bring THAT many people into CHalman at the same time on the same spot no less?

As DC, on the other-side of AZ Chall lag-feast.
    I have to say...

    1. 1/2 our members where locked / knocked out of server (and couldn't relog)
    2. when we could relog, after 3x. We where sent back to way shrine (personally 4x)
    3. when we finally got back to the keep, ...it would crash again.

only about 6 members (from our guild), actually participated in the battle.
And they have the same view as EP, ...it was a mess.

Battles shouldn't be decided on lag.
Emperors should get their chance to defend..
and we (all), should get PvP, we enjoy.

As you should be able to tell, none of us who were in that fight are particularly accusatory- this is a problem that clearly affects every faction. It can be (and is) caused by all factions at some point, and there needs to be some sort of solution found for it. In the current state, an emperor cannot properly defend against superior numbers due to the lag, even if their group is capable of surviving. Once the lag gets to a certain point, the fight becomes irrelevant. This shouldn't happen to anybody.

I'm no expert on programming, so I can't give insight into WHY this happens, or what I would change to fix it. Even so, Something's gotta give. @ZOS_BrianWheeler got any input for us?

Well I definitely know it has to do with Meteor Spam. Even with the nerf to Valkyn Skoria, its still extremely commonplace and the mechanics of the ultimate mean that it will show up as coming down repeatedly because, again due to the lag, it does not go off instantly, so people will often reflectively spam it to make sure it does.

The lag at Aleswell was not on the same level as Chalman later on. Aleswell also didn't last an additional 15 minutes after the keep flipped. The keep flipped @ Aleswell and the blue almost immediately wiped (they were darn near wiped to begin with, which is why the flags flipped).

At Aleswell we also had one team on top of the keep, another clearing the flags. At Chalman it was just ramming a pop locked faction straight onto the flags through the front door.

Welcome how to how the major campaigns have felt for months. Almost every emp deposition on thorn had lag and flag stacking involved and at leas 75% of the time the flags flipped w/ emps still on them. Its nothing new and its just the way the game works. You have to play around the lag and find the most effective skills to use during it in order to survive.

Amazing. Last time it was the "lake" at KC. I don't know how one player can find every single crack in the game structure and manage to fall through it. Guess he's right about "Worstluck". Vort has plenty of it.

I wasn't there so can't speak to this specific event but try to remember the DC there are transplants from TB where we are used to EP bringing hoards with them to Chal or multiple people crashing to desktop and failing at objectives because we didn't have enough numbers to survive the assault. :)

I'm not certain about this, but it seemed like I was one of the only people spamming meteor during that lagfest. I can't help it that the game started to lag and let me cast meteor over and over. I was amazed at the lighting effects so I kept doing it. We were all stacked on two flags for like 10 minutes, me not spamming meteor wouldn't have stopped that lag.

Yeah that happen yesterday to DC at Ales when EP went into grab the scroll and dispose the current DC EMP a handful of us was alive for about 10-15 mins after, was so hilarious and sad, died finally when the keep had been flipped for sometime...think everyone was lagging though due to ball up, save for the scroll team

But the issue does need to be fixed, has it happens on all sides.
