I wouldn't be all too thrilled to have all of this advancement yanked out from under me. I'd probably unsub. If people don't want to do Cadwell's quests, then provide a valid alternative for advancing (like an expansion pack with totally new content), but keep Cadwell's G/S in place. I personally enjoy them and would be sorely disappointed if I suddenly wasn't able to complete them. I do not plan on playing alts. I always play MMOs with a single character and don't want to have to create new ones to enjoy the other content.

    I don't think they will remove the quests just the vet ranks. If they did remove all those quests they would be stupid.

    I'm just saying when you think about it, really think about it! The idea of balancing the game and all of the higher crafted gear down to lvl 50 not too mention stats alone, It's seems to me like an unrealistic goal. We shouldn't have unreal expectations...

    I have another thread (one of many) on this same issue.

    My simple solution is not to remove veteran ranks, but to lower the xp required to gain each rank equal the amount of xp needed to go from 49-50. Essentially, VR14 becomes level 63. No other changes to the game are required. It can probably be done in a hotfix. Problem solved. Should have been done months ago.

    I hope they will never remove the VR ranks - to much is linked together and will fall apart if you will do this. So they perhaps will increase the vet ranks to 20-30 - this would be wonderful. And perhaps introduce DLC content for it...

    Well can't they remove VR alone tho. I don't think there was any talk about removing VR content as of yet.

    Oh, they need to remove the idea of vet ranks entirely. They do. It's a stale effort idea to have players go around to other factions starting zones and do all those quests...again. It always has been.They released the game far too early, and this is what we got. Be happy that you have things like Craglorn to make it seem that actually cared about end game content. Prior to that, vet questing was all we had.

    I actually really like the ability to do all factions quests, especially as a non alt player. And I also love the idea of vet ranks, I personally wish we'd see more and more with new zones but I know that wont happen, and I also know I'm a minority as far as liking Cadwell's and Vet Ranks :p

    I could see them just reorganizing the levels so that level 50 = VR14

    Leveling from VR1 - VR14 was about as much fun as rubbing broken glass into my eyes. Done it three times already. They need to go, K-T extinction style.

    The way I see it

    The vet zones (the other factions) will not be removed, but the level of the mobs there most likely will all be dropped to L50 (instead of V1 to V10)

    Gear that drops will need you to be L50 + X CP points to wear. (so V1 gear will need you to be L50 and 10 Cp points before you can wear them.)

    So I think the V1 to V10 zones could be an easy convert. But Craglon, trials, Vet dungeons and dsa....
    Not sure how they would convert those to L50 and still make them fun to do with loot you want to go get.

    As long as they work to rebalance the game, give the people who grinded Vet levels something equivalent to make sure it wasn't for nothing, I'd be fine with no more Vet levels :3

    I had to comment on this...specifically because this is a much bigger change than turning a VR indicator into a numeric level.

    Why:
    -VR level exp is approx 8 champion levels
    -character levels are approx 10 VR levels
    -VR exp converted into champion levels was approx 5 champion levels per 1 VR level at the introduction of patch 2.0
    -people aren't upset or bothered by the VR level indicator
    -people want credit for the progress made in VR

    So I'd suggest that simply changing a character level beyond 50 to equal a VR level requires reworking of all the exp gains, Champ exp gains and any VR content.

    It may work better in adjusting the VR levels into the champion system as a before and after exp gauge has been established. And today's exp gains work within the two.

    I just don't see using a character level as a viable solution based on what has occurred.
    I thought that idea would've work prior to champion levels but it's too late now...I think

    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    I'm pretty sure post VR removal, equipment will start to work work off your max CPs, kind of like Diablo 3.

    I think all they need to do is remove the VR level designation (and VR level requirement) from all VR gear and simply scale the STATS of those sets off of CP. That way no one has to level alts past VR1 to wear the best gear, but everyone who grinds CP gets the full benefit of their labor.

    I am totally fine with reorganizing experience earned into an equivalent amount of levels. It's just removing everything and dumping everyone back to 50 that I don't want, regardless of how they scale the equipment. And CP's aren't a good enough substitute.

    I'm pretty sure post VR removal, equipment will start to work work off your max CPs, kind of like Diablo 3.

    This kinda kicks those who have invested into VR leveling ...it's like saying bumb you twice. They got shafted on having more than one VR14 or having more than a few VR chars that shouldve received more than 70 cp

    The only thing they need to to is make the xp needed to attain the next vr rank scale the way it does form 1-49. That's it. They don't have to remove any levels, content, gear etc. Then, when they introduce new content they won't have to increase the level cap because the content is needed for attaining champion points.

    I have 3 V14's (they all have a minimum of 25 days played) and working on my fourth. I would love to have Vet ranks taken out, I don't care about the work i put for my Vet ranks.

    Vet ranks need to be taken out because you can go from level 1-50 easy, and anyway you want. It's extremely enjoyable. But in Vet ranks right now, you usually dont care about the other factions, or you have to grind forever which is extremely boring.

    I do not want veteran ranks removed. I would prefer for the XP requirements to be lowered to 400K per level instead of the current 1M and I would also favor having Enlightenment apply to VR levels in order to speed up the leveling process. I would also support the ability of players to use a template to create new VR14 players if they have a VR14 character who has completed Cadwell's Gold.

    Just one more cluster truck, they have come up with to try and repair all the other truck ups.

    Remember they had to add VR levels, to keep interest in the game when lots of their players maxed out in a couple days.

    But we all outa luck until the console launch, most all efforts are aimed at that.
