Working Solutions to Cyrodiil Crashes

Since the release of Update 6 I have been experiencing some very bad crashes and display driver errors, and for the last couple of weeks I've been trying to find a solution, and today I FINALLY made some progress! I hope this helps anyone having similar issues, so far the game is running better than it ever has!

1. Nvidia Video Cards need to have the Power settings adjusted to the maximum levels (specifically for ESO), to avoid Display Driver issues.

ALSO -> If your native screen resolution is 1080x1920 you need to modify your UserSettings.txt file as follows;
From
SET FullscreenHeight "0"
SET FullscreenWidth "0"
to
SET FullscreenHeight "1080"
SET FullscreenWidth "1920"

2. If you are using a Modem running into a Router, you need to bypass the Router and complete a DNS flush on the modem to avoid any packet loss.

To do this ZOS has posted instructions at this link: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9179/track/AvP5QwrdDv8S~VIdGtMe~yILdsUqUC75Mv9Z~zj~PP_Q

3. Lastly, if you are using the 'Minion' AddOn Manager, or the 'OverWolf' program from TeamSpeak3, both may have invasive services running in the background, sending information packets alongside those sent and received from ESO. To see if either of these programs have hijacked your "ISP Highway" follow these steps;

•1. Click Start and type msconfig in the search box.
•2. Right click on the msconfig.exe program and choose Run as administrator.
•3. Click on the Services tab and check the Hide all Microsoft services box.
•4. Once you have the hidden the crucial Microsoft Services you will be able to scroll through the list of programs.
•5. If you find ANY mention of 'OverWolf' or 'Minion' on that list, check them and click Disable.
•6. Once you have disabled either of the programs, if they are present at all, click Apply and Restart your Computer.
•7. As soon as you are able to, be sure to uninstall either or both of these programs, apparently they are NOT compatible with ESO.
(at least not on my system).

I would like to personally thank @ZOS Support Team for putting up with my constant e-mails, (not the friendliest I've ever sent), and doing everything that they could to help, after trying fix after fix looking for a solution. I have a new found respect for the job that they do for us. It is NO easy task to find solutions to every problem we encounter, let alone reproduce them in order to do so! You guys & gals are awesome! (and very, very patient).

    I have been working non stop for the last 2 weeks or so trying to find a fix, right when I thought I had nailed down the main cause of the issue, here I am again back at square one. Whatever ZOS did with update 6 has really screwed a lot of systems up apparently, the forums are blowing up with angry posts and threads over the video card crash bug. At this rate they will have to ban everyone to keep the "burn the books we don't like, keep the ones we do" mentality of the forums intact.

    In the midst of a thousand forum threads crying over things ranging from "nuclear siege" to "get rid of vet ranks" and everything in between I feel like I just might be the only one who has tried to post anything constructive aside from one or two posts that ive read while waiting for a response from support...

    You said it worked for 4 hours....so something you did helped right ?

    Clearly unsintalling the apps hasnt reverted...so you can stike that one off ?

    I believe windows adjusts the TCP window automagically depending on response time.
    So perhaps this is part of the problem.
    Either that or you just entered server load heaven.

    Digging through the game files and editing lines in the UserSettings.txt file is usually the FIRST thing ZOS recommends, its either that or "reset your router". What gets me the most, and I have done it JUST to prove my point, I can run multiple online games at the same time, (Steam>Napoleon Total War)(Arc>Star Trek Online)(Origin>Sim City Online) that's 3 of them all going at once, WITH their launchers open and I have ZERO lag, ZERO crashes, AND the in game abilities all seem to work!

    This game, close the launcher after clicking play, 5/10 times I make it past character select without a crash or display driver stop, the other 5/10 I might be able to play for 10-30 minutes if I am lucky. I have submitted so many support tickets and tried so many of their fixes, I am pretty sure they are out of ideas because now they are sending me duplicate fixes... Its almost like they don't even read my e-mails.

    There is no fix on the player's side when its their server.

    I believe ZOS can fix this but it would require a complete overhaul of skills, abilities, and AOE caps, something I wouldn't expect from ZOS. Instead, they'll be focusing on NEW MOUNTS for Crown Store. haha

    I'm about to give up on this MMO and that really sucks; I've been a part of it since Beta.

    I'm scraping the bottom of my " Just give them a chance " bucket.

    Usually, when a MMO has issues, they get fixed or at least softened. Not with this one though. Things are getting worse with each new patch, not better.

    I do feel bad for the people that work on this game though. They must work under some real putzs. Who have no clue what to do.

    ( Uninstall and reinstall whole client)..Before posting that I had clicked a link to your Guild Site and in there you had a few discussions about digging thru files ect ect. just saying you could have caused some of your issues( which seem very big from others I've heard) by digging around and unintentionally moving something. causing you issues
