Can we get an "Edit Character" option? Please!?

How is this not in-game yet?

Even if it's just hair and adornment... That would suffice. But no option for editing at all, in 1 year is stupid.

Well... it's "in the works" as in they know you want it, but they will dangle that carrot in front of your little nose for as long as they can. This one is reminded of many "in the works" promises. This one suggest you never try blocking with dual weapons. You might get confused and forget which weapon you are trying to block with.

The barbershop in the works will make a great addition to this game.

    But... we need more.

Barbershop for gold (or free like the dyes, though personally I would support a gold cost for dying your armor as well) and some character re-customization option for crowns where you can change more stuff then "everyday" changes which belong in the barbershop...

And we need it sooner rather then later...

The re-customization option for crowns is exactly what I need. I made my character WAY too short and didn't notice it until it was "too late".

Why are people insisting that anything other than hairstyle has to be in the crown store? Poor people like to adjust their characters too you know. And besides, what happens if all you want to do is change eye colors or slightly increase the height of your character? Paying crowns for an entire re-customization for such a small adjustment seems like a waste.

Faction or race or gender I can understand. But just narrowing up the jaw? Come on.

If you absolutely insist on paying crowns for it, then at least have it as an optional method of payment. Have a face sculptor NPC that accepts either say 50k gold OR a token that can be purchased from the crown store.

I am totally up for this feature; but why is it not in-game yet you might ask?

It may already be on their "To-do" list, but it's not a pressing game feature, and you don't see a lot of people asking for Hair-cuts or cosmetic face sculpting.

Sure they could throw that "certain NPC" from Skyrim into the game somewhere, but why someone isn't on top of that is a mystery.

Perhaps someone should go over to the Bethesda offices and ask them. :P

Character makeovers are one of the definitive cash shop offerings and a profit source for other games with the B2P no-sub model (such as Guild Wars 2), so I'm sure they are on the way.

And if ZOS follows ArenaNet's lead, players may eventually be able to give their characters gigantic neon pink afros -- for a price.

What I want is a full character edit option (NOT race/gender/class/faction change though) and an option to save/load my customizations. And we shouldn't have to pay real money for this option.

On the other hand, Race/Gender/Class/Faction/Name changing options SHOULD be a Crown Store service.

    Do NOT give ZOS ideas.

We don't need this to be the new SWTOR where you are forced to pay money to customize you character after its creation. Keep it all costing gold - you can get at least 10k a day from fencing items.

Even if they copy the idea of having an item or NPC to change appearance (which is hardly unique to GW2) there's no reason to think they would copy the actual customisation options. Different games with different art styles and lore.

(Otherwise it should go both ways, my charr should be able to ride a giant lizard too.)

If ESO was still subscription-powered, then yes, it should only cost gold.

But now... now they will want to earn some coin through the crown store, and I'd rather pay for this SWTOR-style then see them add the more annoying stuff to make their profit (lockboxes, PtW, that sort of things... which as it happens is how the games I remember where recustomization is free went). And it would also have the benefit of making your choices count for something, when changing them later costs real money, which is something I always like. Games that allow free changes always seem so... superficial...

So, I'll gladly give then this idea. I'd pay crowns for character recustomization. Say, re-enter chargen screen, play around, and in the end press "make it so" and 50-100 cowns for every slider moved? They'd get quite a bit from me that way.

You know what else makes them money? Keeping people playing the game. Forcing people to pay money for minor things that should already be in the game anyway drives people away.

Leave the crown store for costumes, mounts, big changes (name, race, faction, etc.), and DLC. Being able to customize the very base components of your character's appearance is something everyone should have access to without a credit card.

Besides, as I mentioned earlier, they can still make money from it if they use crowns as an alternative method of payment rather than the only method of payment.

I want to be able to redo my character. And, I don't want to be charged for it. I was not charged for making my character in the first place. If they want to limit this for some strange reason, then put a cool down timer of a week on the action.

In the realworld, we spend money getting a new haircut, buying make up for reapplication or to mostly speak as a male, buying that mosturiser for my skin.

I know it is is a game but such things should not be free. They should either cost gold (a reasonably large amount prefereably with a cooldown) or crowns. However Crowns I would welcome because in the end, that person that programmed and tested a barber for you in virtual tamriel have to eat but I would digreess from this discussion as I know it normally results in heated debates.

All we can do is make our suggestions for certain features known to them and just remember that we cannot have everything, at least for free. If you want that, then build a Matrix Tamriel!

I would think that the logical solution to this would be; getting normal "real life" cosmetic edits should cost gold, i.e. hair cuts, adornments. Things such as gender, facial features, alliance should certainly cost something as to prevent abuse of the feature.

But again... The real question remains; Why is this not being worked on? And if it is being worked on, why has that not been brought to our attention?

I find it strange that archaic features such as this aren't in-game yet. It seems that these things are standard in any game nowadays.

SO people that are cheapskates don't ever pay anything, ZOS loses money accomadating said cheapskates, and the game ceases to exist b/c the entitlement crowd won over. Brilliant.
