Adding my name to the list.

I've had no problems for months, but multiples of problems for the last couple of weeks. Lag spikes, and crashes on a daily basis.

It is a rare mind indeed that can render the hitherto non-existent blindingly obvious. The cry 'I could have thought of that' is a very popular and misleading one, for the fact is that they didn't, and a very significant and revealing fact it is too. - Douglas Adams

The only thing I've seen an increase in is my game freezing while in towns. Again this mostly happens while running from guards or something. I have had it during the transitions from walking to being mounted too. :(

I crash or freeze on average 10 times per day,it's been ever since 1.6.It happens at anytime, using wayshrine,in bank, walking, running, riding, standing still,in combat .An example: from the beach in vulkhel guard you have to pause at the top of the steps to allow it to catch up and then the same all the way through the town.I have to wait for the people to materialise on screen in towns before daring to proceed.Other times I can ride from one town to the next and then find I am unable to dismount even jumping into water doesn't dismount me.

I've had some of the probs that the OP states, but I'm not complaining. It's an MMO, and such things crop up when major changes to the gameworld are done. Be patient, and these things will be ironed out, as they have in the past.

When I get an infinite loading screen, yes, I restart the game and everything works again (a pita to do understood).

But the exaggerated doom and gloom scenario that some of you paint is simply...amusing...and misleading. The game is unquestionably better now after 1.6 and the addition of non-sub players, despite the hiccups that surfaced. Don't lose sight of the forest for a few trees.

    Hyperbole has a cost.

Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.

No problems for me whatsoever apart from being stuck in combat for DAYS inside cyrodill and the fact that you have to wait a good 2 seconds from when you press "E" to accually get ported inside keep/door what evs you name it, but worst of all is the fact that the xp potion still isnt in the game. <<1>> much of the time, only when trying to get into Rawl'Kha.
    Infinite load screens, too.
    Lag. Lag. Lag.

The mount's invisible obstacle that stops running is getting annoying, too.

Only 1000 things could cause this for the OP (Drivers, hardware, virus from *** ETC). But yet complaining because the game is free... Amazing... Proving forums on the internet are useless.

Game runs fine for me. No lag and no crashes.

Why do people find it hard to accept that just because they don't have a problem others cannot?

Doubtless for the same reason that some people who have a problem cannot accept that there are other people who don't have the problem. I'm been pretty openly called a liar for saying that I haven't experienced serious issues like infinite loading screens, serious lag, broken quests and other game-breaking bugs etc..

The fact is, however, that in 12 months I've had one crash, one bugged quest which I cancelled, re-took and finished, and an otherwise flawless performance with only nominal lag on a few occasions. I play solo, don't PvP, don't have any add-ons, don't alter my computer or game system settings, run nothing else in the background, never alt-tab out of the game, and I run Nvidia drivers from a couple of years or so ago because they give me no problem with any game I'm running. I think all that helps.

I personally don't think that the importance of fixing these issues has been over-stated, but describing them all as game-breaking and applicable to "ALL" players is definitely an over-statement.
  • WycombeWanderer
Oh I'm not complaining or prophesying the end is near.I merely posted an insight into how the game is performing for me at this moment in time.I had similar problems in the early days though not as pronounced as they are at the moment. If I saw no future in the game then I would un-sub and not persevere :)

    Playing since pre-release. Subscribed.

Since 1.6/2.0 I am experiencing a new sensation while I play. Fear. Fear to CTD. Some examples of CTD during this last weeked (played around 10 hours every day)
    • Entering Elden Root to collect the pledge or the reward. CTD 3 of 4 times (I did 3 pledges and got 5 crashes)
    • Fighting in a group dungeon. right in the middle of the fight. 2 CTD + <<1>>+endless loading screen so around 5/6 mins to be able to rejoin the fight... if I dont get another <<1>>...
    • Entering a wayshrine. 2/3 CTD
    • Coming out from wayshrine. 2/3 CTD
    • Running in the wild, just farming mats. 2/3 CTD
    • Checking the map. 1 CTD
    • Entering a building (usually a bank) 2 CTD
    • Coming out of building 3/4 CTD
    • Doing nothing at all (just leave the character doing nothing and go for a quick sandwich and when I come back, a nice CTD¡¡¡
    • Never had a crash while at a crafting station. I used them all (the 6) this weekend, a no problem there.

Well, I am probably missing some CTDs, (I just wrote the ones I recall),

I also have the graphic glitch when I enter many houses (missing floor and walls) and sometimes if I get inside too quick, I end falling down the void and reapearing in a near wayshrine...

Regarding loading screens, well, several times, specially when you are grouped, they take several minutes to load, but this weekend I just had to kill one of these before i lost patience, so not a big problem with that, but if they could be removed, so much better for all.

I dont recall problems in Cyrodill, but this week I played PvE there, not PvP.

Unfortunately this is a reality. At least in my end. I use the very same computer since the begining, and never had those problems before 1.6/2.0. I have a decent cable internet connection, and 90% of the time the game works fine. However all these crashes and lost time in really annoying and sad.

Congratulations to all the players who do not suffer this, how lucky you are¡¡, but this is my game since 1.6 update.

I haven't had the issues you guys are experiencing. I have had a weird graphical glitch where interiors aren't loading very quickly... but I'm not concerned about that.

Nothing could be further from the truth . This happens on some of the best gaming rigs and cable providers in the country.

Yet it doesn't effect everyone, how odd...

I have none of the issues described, the only exception being the occasional infinite load screen after a patch. My latency ingame at all hours is completely fine, stable and the game couldn't be more playable.

I notice some of the players who claim the game is unplayable have multiple vr14 characters. Im like you I havent had any of these issues. The only time Ive crashed is when I alt tab out to look at a website or something. If I dont alt tab back within about 5 minutes when I do finally tab back to the game it crashes. Other than that I have an issue where when I change graphics settings I have to close the game and reload or it sits on infinite loading screen.

Exactly. Especially when some people are having issues and others aren't. It strongly suggests that the problem isn't nearly as wide spread as people would have you believe, and could possibly be fixed by running through standard troubleshooting steps such as reinstalling the game, updating drivers, etc.

Hell....half the time when someone says they're experiencing problems it's because they're running a potatoe, and their computer is laden with malware and torrents. So forgive some of us if we're skeptical of claims that all the woes a person is having are because Zenimax won't 'fix their game'.

Where exactly did I say that 'ALL' players are having issues? I do agree that people are over-fond of speaking for 'everyone' and I have some sympathy for you when others apparently have tried to shout you down because your experience is not the same as theirs.

The 'everyone' brigade bug me even more than the ZoS fanbois who are still alive and well despite being proven wrong on many issues.

As cynical as it may sound, it sounds like a hardware or local network problem. I'm currently playing on the NA server (despite living in Europe) with no trouble at all.

Playing on the EU server is a disaster and it's worse than ever before.

I play on both NA and EU servers. I have had fewer issues on the EU servers. I believe you though @Seraphyel . Every once in awhile something really weird will happen on EU. For me that stuff is much more likely to happen on the NA servers though.

I don't know, both servers have their issues and I am sure not the players / PCs / internet connections are to blame. There is something wrong with Zenimax servers.

The other people are adamant at letting ZoS know there are issues because they can't play or can't play well. If you are lucky, good for you.

I mean, if you have 95% of 1M players having everything OK but 5% don't, it's still 50,000 people that require care to be taken.
