OK. So you had an alt feeding you de facto unattainable equipment for a normal player by that level?

Why unattainable? It is all crafted from materials the 'normal player' can gather himself easily (in fact, my lowbie did too, as i dont stock iron anymore). All you need is a guildmate crafter willing to give you a bit of his time to craft it for you.

Let us be realistic here. No normal player will craft full blue sets when he hits level 14, just to dump it all 2 hours later.

Let's be really realistic (as in, what actually happened)

I used that level 12 armor up to level 26. There was simply no need to replace it. I was cutting though content (including soloing group dungeon) like hot knife through butter.

I've been doing that with armor several levels lower than PVE content and since I don't do repairs, almost none to none protection.
I will be interesting to see what happens when the biggest crowd on consoles starts alt-ing.

My buddies and I have been 3maning dungeons since release. It's super easy.

Veteran dungeons, though... that's a mixed bag.

I soloed all group dungeons with an orc DK starting at level 12, up to and including crypt of hearts (and it's equivalents in other alliances). After that i got bored of it so i didn't try the follow-up ones.

    Pics or it didn't happen.

Soloing dungeons isn't that hard with the correct class and setup. And that's a problem in my opinion.

That's not a problem. That's the reward for learning the intricacies of your class and gearing her appropriately.

Uh...yeah it really is a problem. There is no way that a 4 man instance should ever be so easy that you can solo the thing while being on level with it as a new player, even if well geared. These instances should be a challenge for even a 4 person team until after such time as it is learned and the mechanics are down. They simply are too freakin easy. Not ok.

Problem is, there is a very wide gap between the skill level of the top and bottom players. Remember we are talking level 12-30 instances, not endgame raids. If you design the dungeon so that is is a tough challenge for a team of four well-equipped and very skilled players, then a group of four scrubs wearing random mismatched pieces will simply hit a brick wall, and say 'screw it.'

So you have to make it a challenge for the scrubs. And if you do that, then a very skilled player in optimized equipment will be able to solo it. And it is OK, because it clearly is the lesser of two evils. I'd rather have skilled players soloing my dungeons than newbies not playing them at all.
