Stuck on main story quest "Shadow Of Sancre Tor"

My level 40 character is stuck on the main story quest "Shadow of Sancre Tor"

I'm up to the bit where I need to consecrate the shrine in the Dragonguard tomb. I've made my way there, but when I click on the shrine, nothing happens. Sai Sahan says something and then we all stand around aimlessly while nothing at all happens.

I've tried clicking on the shrine multiple times, but nothing else happens. I've tried reloading the UI and logging in and out.

I can't leave this quest because it won't let me leave the way I came in, and I can't port out either.

So my character is stuck.

Can't help with the inability to 'use' the shrine I'm afraid.

I've not had problems leaving story instances myself, a couple of times early on I found myself unable to deal with a 'boss' (in the beginning some were seriously over-tuned for their level), but a couple of things come to mind:

1) try Travel To Player (if you know someone who you can use that with), I've used that method in at least one location where map-based use of Wayshrines wasn't allowed.

2) try Abandoning the quest perhaps, maybe that'll kick you out of the instance.

I logged out then came back a few hours later and my character was standing outside the habourage.

Ah, now I do recall that .. there's a hidden timer that does kick you out eventually, I'd totally forgotten about that.

Glad to hear you're out at least, hopefully next time you go the shrine won't glitch.

So yeah, this just happened to me and now my templar is stuck and unable to progress into the vet zones.

I submitted a ticket, but we will probably get patched before then so...maybe that will reset whatever is wrong. Very frustrating but not the least bit surprising.

Whenever people harp about how questing should be the main way to get exp and grinding should be nerfed, I think of times like this and wonder what game they are actually playing. Because it isn't Elder Scrolls Online.

The shrine sometimes doesn't work. Trying it again after the instance reset works in most cases

Second time reset of the instance did not work either. Really annoying as I'm trying to reroll DK to deal with the sorc nerfs.

Reloadui and 3 restarts of the quests didnt work.
Still stuck.
Amazing, the quest has been in since the launch day, I was stuck on it, I recall, on my main char, half a year later I resub, do an alt, and he is stuck too.
Zenimax, its good you go Buy2Play. Because you clearly are wasting our money at the wrong place.

AT LEAST GET THE GAME BLOCKING QUESTS TO WORK!

From Customer Support. Haven't tried it yet but will post back when I do.

"Thank you for taking a few moments to try out some of the aforementioned troubleshooting. If you're still having difficulties interacting with or consecrating the shrines, I would like to suggest the following:

1. Perform one additional reset of the instance,
2. Make sure you do not move when consecrating the shrine, and
3. Make sure you are close to the shrine before pressing [E] to interact."

5 times i tried, 5 times the instance was reset, i tried everything - it doesn't work.

I think it is because people click on the entire brazier, not in the cup INSIDE of the brazier. Or maybe doing a few quests and gaining a level before coming back will help.
One of this helped me.

Try doing a few other quests and come back and to it. When you approach the shrine get close and activate. Don't move or do anything when you activate. I also went right when I entered the dragon tomb in case that had anything to do with it.
