When?!?? Seriously, sometimes I'll lie in bed late at night and imagine I'm playing the game while watching the ESO live console gameplay demonstration on my Xbox one via the YouTube app. My wife says I look especially pathetic during these moments...

Game comes out on June 9th, if they wait till May it will be too late. Game needs to go into certification at least 30-45days before release so they have time to manufacture the game disc, cases etc. If it does not pass cert, they need to fix and re-submit them. I would say that the beta will be in April like the have mentioned before. I am hoping for early April, this gives them enough time to address any issues.
My main worry is performance and settings for the console version. What will the draw distance be set at compared to the PC version? Plant density etc.0 -

Well for starters they announced a release date of 6/9. The also announced that a beta will happen sometime in April. Not sure what is tripping you up about those 2 facts.0 -

I agree. The question is if ZOS took the time to optimize it for the console. With the closed architecture, they could target the same specs like you said and perhaps make the game run very good, but we don't know this and the main reason why I and others are curious. I know they said the target is 1080p/30fps which for this type of game that is pretty good. If they hit that target, the next question is view distance and the other options available on the PC version. Until we get to the beta or ZOS comes out and stats what they are targeting, we won't know for sure.

You're welcome. Happy to be paying to beta test for CONSOLE.
All I have to say.... enjoy not having mods... not being able to parse... (unless ZOS gets a bug up the you-know-what and implements some of the player-created mods we have to use for PC).
Oh.. and crafting research. Yeah... right after launch this is how it went:
"Hey Irista, can you craft a restoration staff with training on it?"
Me: "Uhh....." *Stops what I'm doing (usually in the middle of questing), ride back to a wayshrine, port to town, run to a crafting table, hit the research tab.. (effectively 5min later after being asked).* "Uh... no. I can't yet.. still have 5 days left till I can make that."
After AI Research Grid mod:
"Hey Irista, can you craft ____."
Me: *Hits keybind, looks at spreadsheet* "Yup. Send me your mats so I can head to the crafting bench."
...console won't have that.
Edit: Obviously I'm bias to console release. However I was a console gamer in college (couldn't afford a rig upgrade). So whatever floats your boat. The initial Console Beta sign-up was in 2014. The announcement of the Console release delay until June 2015 seemed infer Console Beta testing was not started or suspended. A future Console Beta announcement was forthcoming, if I recall correctly.
What is the current status of the Console Beta? Console Launch is set for 06/09/2015(?), so time for stress-testing and the lie is growing short. Will internal testing be adequate or is an unannounced Beta ongoing. If so, I realize the Beta would be presumably under NDA.
Clarification of whether Console testing is forthcoming or closed would suffice.
