I'm not bothered whether it's through an auction house, but I would prefer it if everyone had the opportunity to sell stuff without having to join a guild first, let alone having to join 5 guilds because of the random odds of one of them getting a kiosk each week.

No more trade guilds would end the best locations being cornered by a few and allow for more / true dedication to real guilds.

If you'd read the other thread, I wouldn't say I lost any ground in it.

As for this thread, it wasn't meant to be a place for either side to bring the argument to, but rather (hopefully) for ZOS to finally settle it. So do me a favour, if you're here simply to argue, don't bother, there are plenty of threads for that already mate.

While I've personally grown quite fond of the guild trader system, I agree with Pallmor's second point. A new ZOS statement on the auction house topic would do absolutely nothing to put the debate to rest. If anything I think it would only serve to bring in more vitriol from the opposition (whatever the decision is, yes or no) about how it's the wrong decision and they should change it immediately.

I hope they never introduce global AHs to this game, if they do they will screw up the in-game economy just like every other MMO that has global AHs (i.e. inflation). They are the very devil - tempting, oh-so-convenient, but actually poison to a game.

Same as automated dungeon finders - seems like a wonderful idea, oh-so-convenient! Actually: poison.

Too redundant of a topic for me to read anything. ZOS doesn't want an auction house. An auction house would destroy this game's economy. It is an incredibly fun gameplay mechanic to allow guilds to fight for real estate to sell their goods. I only play on DC NA, but I'm guessing every faction has Rawkla and Belkarth as two of the highest traffic sales locations as well as few other notable ones. Searching out a deal at a guild store in some of the lesser traveled locations is a fun and dynamic gameplay element that would be destroyed if Joe Farmer could flood the global auction house with under priced merchandise until every other competitor moved on to something else.

In-game polls are possibly the worst way to make a game design decision ever. At the very best, they provide info about what players think would make the game more fun for them. Players are game developers, though, and are inherently biased and lacking in knowledge of all the ins and outs of the game's systems.
