Possible LFG Incentive?

Could ZOS add an incentive to the LFG tool so that players are given a reason to use the LFG tool?

I was thinking maybe have players actively earn XP as long as they are in the queue, with more XP being rewarded for selecting more of the options in the LFG tool. Once a group is found, the LFG tool XP bonus has a 120 minute cooldown. This cooldown would ensure players don't just use the LFG tool... quit the group and go back to using the LFG tool.

Thoughts?

Other games have adopted a similar system with faster cooldowns of 10-15 minutes, which is a bit more realistic imo.
So far every game that did this increased the use of the LFG tool immensely.
Why it's not implemented in ESO?
    No idea.
Current Tool is outdated and underused (including various bugs).

Any kind of incentive, be it XP, gold or materials, would be welcome, but I am afraid they are actively avoiding anything to do with grouping tool. Just look at the number of threads and posts about it and no official comment on it.

I'd appreciate a bonus like many other MMOs, especially since not enough folks are using it (and I would like to)

I wasn't aware others have done this. I only suggested it because the main problem with the lfg tool seems to be no one uses it!

That's not the only problem. They admitted having problems with it, but refuse to work on them.

Just adding my 2 pence: please fix this ZOS, I don't even need an incentive I just like running dungeons.

I will be continuing to add this message to all LFG threads until resolved :)

Good idea. It might also help to make the tool more feature rich, so that there is a concrete gain in functionality over using chat. This could be for example the option to search for multiple dungeons at the same time. I usually want to do one of three or four dungeons at any given time, but don't necessarily care which.

The lfg tool kills player interaction. We are playing a social game. If you want a group go ahead and talk to people. Makes contacts. Join a guild with similar goals.

The auto grouping system in wow was complete bs and should never be implemented here along with anything similar to it.

Actually, a working LFG tool would facilitate more social interaction. You get groups faster. Meet more people, good or bad. And you have more time talking to your friends in game instead of wasting it on trying to find people to do a dungeon.

Hopefully there will be an improvement of the LFG tool for the console release which then will filter back to the PC.

Not every console owner has a Bluetooth keyboard, therefore I would hope that this is an area they are looking to improve on.

Actually not. In all game in which there is some kind of lfg tool autogrouper its actually the opposite in terms of interaction. People get in group and start running content as if they were with bots. When *** hits the fan, people just leave without saying anything and use the lfg tool to find some other grp. Others will just be rude and toxic (think league of legends) as they know they dont need to be kind with those people to find another group; They just need to use the lfg Tool.

Spamming chat is not social interaction. Getting a group via a chat is the same as getting it via a grouping tool from the standpoint of how much you talk to them.

YOU are wrong! Group tool was great and brought about plenty of interaction in the months after launch, when it worked.

I liked the LFG tool while it still worked (when it formed groups even if they were not complete, and I hope we will get it working again). The groups were random if you used the tool, and it was social in the beginning of each dungeon and during the dungeons, as introductions were made and we PUGs tried to overcome obstacles. Of course there were at times some short tempered people (and I got most of the hate, as healers sometimes do). But in the end I felt that the groups formed more quickly and the atmosphere was relaxed and people had fun.

Now it feels like I'm applying for a job (well maybe not quite as serious) when trying to find a group in zone chat. I have to write lots of information and at times I am not qualified as I am not the desired level (ok, usually I'm over-leveled, so not really an issue) or it turns out that my character is not an Altmer or Breton. Well I wouldn't like to be in a group that is so competitive anyway... (so no trials or vr pledges ever for me? They would probably be too much  ). World bosses and Dolmens still have the happy randomness where people overcome obstacles together.

So I'm in for anything that would improve the LFG tool and make grouping fun again (and making the possible wait more bearable).

Now considering looking into less traditional healer builds after I've finished with my current character (finished = getting to a desired high level after trying (and completing) almost everything there is at that time content-wise).

This accurate in a way, but it doesn't change that a LFG tool incentive is needed. Sometimes I want to do a dungeon but I don't do it only because my play time is limited to 2-3 hours and spending 30 minutes or more trying to find a dungeon is not appealing at all.

I love how people are using this as an opportunity to insult and belittle other members of the community. If THOSE are the kind of people with which we can commune, is it any surprise we want a cold, lifeless, automated method of grouping? I have no desire to be "friends" with those types of people. I would PREFER Hirable NPC Companions, but that's MUCH less likely than a working LFG tool.

I have a few suggestions that would really help out the function of the LFG tool.

    1) Give a bonus that rewards a loot bag from the undaunted that stacks to 7. This will be nice for those who can only play on weekends and encourage people to use the LFG tool more often.

    2) Make the LFG tool queue you for a random dungeon. This will eliminate long queues if you happen to use the LFG tool and have a dungeon selected that nobody is running.

    3) Make the LFG tool cross faction! The way it is now is just bad. Essentially you are limiting the players to 1/3rd of the player base, and even less since you don't know what dungeon anyone else is queuing for!

    4) Give increase to experience and gold drops while running a dungeon if they used the LFG tool. I would also increase the drop rates of rare ingredients and other crafting materials while running dungeons using the LFG tool.

That is about it. Opening up the factions and making the LFG tool queue you for a random dungeon would speed up the time it takes to find a group and with the addition of the stacking bonuses and increase to exp, gold, and mats the LFG tool would flourish. Not only that but communities would boom, new friends and possible alliances would be make.

Just my .02 cents if anyone else has a suggestion feel free to add it in the comments!

Also would like to mention you can still use the random dungeon option with a guild run if you don't like running pugs. It would work the same as queuing solo you would just queue your group.

I would honestly just like to see the incentive or running dungeons raised and remove the faction limitations so we can PvE with a larger community. What is it they say an enemy of my enemy is my friend! Coming together for the greater good isn't a new idea and shouldn't ruin any lore.

    1) Even if a person is willing to run a dungeon, they don't stay tuned to Zone Chat all the time
    2) Your guild friends might not be in the same level / alliance that you to run dungeons with you
    3) You still need a healer, tank and DPS to run dungeons, maybe in all your friend list you only have DPS
    4) Whisper who?

    5) The best way to exercise the social part of the game, is to getting a group of random people to a dungeon and then get to know them, I made a lot of friends with random people in games where the Group Finder actually works.

    6) If the tool exists and works, it won't affect you if you don't want to use it.

I don't use the grouping tool often, but when I do, it's because the above has failed me.

I'm not always in the same zone as other people that want to run that dungeon. I'm not going to stand around in a zone I have nothing to do it.. I'm going to quest etc. while I'm waiting.

Sometimes, I am on at really odd times. So, the amount of friends/guildee's (of same faction) can be pretty limited. When I normally plan in the evenings, and somehow end up playing at 3am.. my friends list is definitely not as lit up.

I do use the grouping tool. Does it always work? No. To be honest, it usually doesn't. I'm normally left questing for hours with no group. Although other times (such as this past Saturday night.. err.. Sunday morning) I was placed in a group in less than a minute.

I would rather get an extra reward for finishing a dungeon. Maybe a token I can turn in for some extra experience.

I can easily see your suggestion being exploited. e.g. people signing up as roles they know will take longer to find a group for and dungeons that are not popular.
