Strange exp reward from the quest "Percussive Ranching"

So I was doing this quest here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Percussive_Ranching during the Cadwell's Gold.
It's the quest where you beat up some kwamas then use a flute to bring them back to their owner.
The reward is a shield, 75 gold and I think I saw...500 exp (I think it's the FTC addon that shows it).
I was levelling my lower skills, so I checked if the bar moved at all and it didn't, so it's likely not a visual error.
I know the quest is rather easy, but 500 exp? The monsters around there give me 450 exp.
If I'm not mistaken the other quests around the area are giving around 15-20k exp.

adesanawa✭✭Just did another quest nearby called Close the Scamp Cave, similar thing happened.
So is it meant to be that way?
