Will crown store ever offer anything other than cosmetic items?

How are XP potions pay to win? It's a convince item.

You say that as if it means something, while "convenience", in a competitive environment, is really just a euphemism for "cheating".

Perhaps it just evens the playing field a little. Everyone brings up champion points. Yeah, even with 50% more it'll take forever to get a PERCEIVED competitive advantage.

Seriously, if you think an XP boost is P2W, you have never seen P2W.

If that's the case, they might as well put all our minds at ease by not selling them at all.

I'm not going to be sucked into the pointless debate about how to define P2W. Let's just avoid this straw man and call it what it is: paying for an advantage. In my book that's cheating.

Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

    What is the advantage though?

As far as I can tell, a well geared and skilled Vet 14 trumps a Vet 14 that doesn't have either of those.

I think you're suggesting that someone who is behind in a game cannot cheat?

I have no clue what you were going at there... I'll make my statement a little clearer I guess. A vet 14 that earned some great gear because they worked for it, put a lot of hours into the game, and therefore know what they are doing will destroy a Vet 14 that got there with less effort.

XP potions were listed in the road ahead as a convenience item. They are coming. I have no problem with that. If they ever start selling functional items, stuff that isn't a skin, I am done.

Sure, not yet, but I am sure there will be some little P2W things in the store by the end of the year.

Ok, let me rephrase the question.

Why should I continue to pay Zenemax $15/month if all I'm going to get out of it is cosmetic add on's that don't help me in game?

10% extra XP etc. doesn't justify the expense. I'm trying to figure out if I should cancel my Zenemax subscription or not.

See, some people like P2W... lol

We have soul gems, repair kits, xp boosts coming, future DLCs, potions, etc.

It wasn't "cosmetic only" from the get-go; ZOS has lied before and they will continue to do so until the original playerbase leaves and then ZOS can truly begin ripping off the new, unaware players.

As an MMO...the ESO user base is saturated by mature, respectful games by in large more-so than any other MMO I have ever played. (EQ, EQ2, GW, DAoC, WOW to name a few)

My biggest concern is...this will change. A few new posters in this thread with "your mom" insults concern me. I really hope we're not too flooded with the immature WOW style gamer. Adding things in the crown store that offer "phat lewt" for RL $ puts this game in jeopardy and alienates us gamers who enjoy a more mature community.

    Bosmer (Wood Elf)
Moonlight Crew (RIP), Misfitz (RIP), Victorem Guild

VR16 NB, Stam build, Max all crafts.

Azuras & Trueflame. Mostly PvP, No alts.

Semi-retired till the lag is fixed.

Love the Packers, Bourbon, and ESO...one of those will eventually kill me.

It'll change if your prefered demographic allow themselves to be bullied by that crowd. The more respectable crowd have a shortfalling at times of being a little less vocal, more patient, tolerant and considerate for others.

Unfortunately that means they tend to bow out alot of the time and just quit, rather than speak up in opposition on equal footing. Its a battlefield to control the undertone of the community. Or which group holds the most sway.

Some of it is dependant on ZoS, and them not caving to the pay2win self entitled gamer who doesnt care about the game at all. The rest is on us the community.

Every little action in chat, in game, on the forums and otherwise - defines what is and what isnt on a social level.

So if people want to continue to have a great community, to sway it towards being a great mmo and not a carbon copy of every other - you just have to keep speaking up. Help define that atmosphere. Since B2P, thats a tall order I know but the community of this game depends on us more than people might imagine.

I've already sunk over $220 into this game. I work for my money, so if I'm not going to get anything useful out of a continued investment, then I'm not going to pay anymore. It's not a pay to win issue for me. It's a simple financial issue, so I asked the community what I would get if I opted to continue my subscription. That is all. There is no reason to keep paying if I'm not getting anything useful out of it. I don't need a pet or a cute horse or costume. I won't use that kind of BS even if given the option to.

So when you were subbed before you did get something useful from it ?

I did, I got to play the game and enjoy it with my friends and I work for my money as well and I will still be subbing the game..since I see value in the game and the SUB benefits that come with it.. and nothing ZOS gives me (except maybe the extra 10% XP) is P2W..

What do you think that they (ZOS) should give you for continuing your investment with them??

    Additional character slots.

Maybe blocks of bank/character inventory slots, too.

No p2win controversy with these two.

how does his complaining ruin it? let him moan.

He's convinced me he's not happy.

    i could not give a single f.....

It doesn't ruin it, but I still fail to see how an XP bonus potion makes the game pay to win. What exactly do you win? If they started selling amazing gear in the cash shop, sure. They aren't there right now.

The problem is neither side will every understand the other. To me exp potions and gear are the same. It is convenient for me to buy gear so I can skip the grind. The same as you want potions to make the grind faster...I rather buy my gear to make the grind faster. No difference.

And they both lead to being more powerful than the people that don't spend money.....
