Maintenance for the week of April 6:

Being auto logged out is inconsistent.

I noticed that when I leave the keyboard but leave my character in the open world just standing there, that when I come back to the computer 10 minutes later, that the character is logged out and I am at the login screen.
Do I leave my character in the open world but with a menu open, I can leave my character forever. He'll only get logged out if I now lose the connection to the server. Same thing when leaving my character at the provisioning-, alchemy-, enchanting-, blacksmithing-, woodworking- or clothing-station. Walk away, come back after an hour and he'll still be in that 'menu'.

At least be consistent then and log him off no matter what is happening. If no touch of keyboard or move of mouse in the 10 minutes, doesn't matter what screen you're in, log off. It would also be nice if there was a user settable option deciding how long to wait before logging off (with a maximum of an hour, or so).

With the servers as severely overloaded as they are then AFK kicks are absolutely needed.

Hopefully ZOS fix the exploits you're using to prevent this now you've brought their attention to it.

Also when in a conversation. Go talk to someone, he doesn't even need to have options to talk about, leave and you won't log out.

Hey, @Ageless. You are correct that timing out while AFK should happen no matter what your character is doing in the game. We're investigating and recommend keeping an eye on the patch notes for an update. Thanks!

One more. When in the Lobby, you can stay there forever as well. Being here won't log you off either.

If you're talking about character select, I think that's completely separate from the actual game world.

Personally, I find the afk time out to be much too short. I think it should be like 2 hours!

I also find it incredibly irritating that I am not just booted to the character screen, but completely logged out of the game.

I wonder what is the point of being logged in game being AFK two hours. ¬¬

Lobby is character select, yes. It's eso.exe that's doing that, so the same thing that the game world runs out of.
I have two monitors, one of which always shows Windows Task Manager, at the Processes tab.

I have made it a habit to close the Launcher as soon as eso.exe starts, due to having had lots of PatchManifest errors in the past weeks. These seem to be fixed with the latest patch, but best keep knocking out the launcher. It's not needed after the game's launched anyway and it takes up CPU cycles and can cause eso.exe to crash.

The only two processes running are eso.exe and AwesomiumProcess.exe, the latter being used by the in-game browser that you use when you send bug reports and feedback back to ZOS. If at least you do that from the game. ;-)

The point is I don't have to rush back every ten minutes if I want to take a stretch break or take a phone call. It's a "megaserver" and it can't handle my character standing around idly while I take a lunch break? Really?

And don't even get me started if I get booted from PvP after being in the queue for 45 minutes.
