Restoring a Deleted Character

I understand that this can be done in certain circumstances. You contact customer support and open a ticket. However, I just had a quick question about this. Assuming that it can be done, of course.
If I deleted a character that had a certain name, but made a new character with the same name, what happens if I try to restore that first character? If I want to keep my new character, is it possible for them to restore my old character? Would they change my old character's name since the name is being used?
I doubt they'll be able to restore my old character. It was deleted a long time ago. But I just want to get the answer to this question.

Glierhuin✭✭✭Just contact customer support. As far as I know the old character will get a rename at the next login should the name be already taken again. That was the case for me at least. You can then freely chose a new name for the restored oneI have approximate knowledge of many things.0 -
