Male version of the wedding dress

Greetings!
ESO is a great game and one of its best features is atmosphere, as it was in individual Elder Scrolls games. But since the Crown Store was released, there is one thing that seems strange to me. Wedding dress. It's looking the same way on male and female characters. And this fact really spoils the atmosphere. Of course, it's realy funny, when you see a crazy fat orc in a wedding dress driving guar, but... it is strange and sometimes even frustrating. Imagine RP-lover, who comes to the ESO world and sees such a player. He'll just say: "OMG, I'm turning this off!"
So, this is why I want to place a request for a proper male version of wedding dress in Crown Store. I think it will be much better for all of us.
Best regards, MrGorv.

    You mean a tuxedo?

I'm sure there is some other type of formal attire that would be more lore appropriate.

If another player is upset by my choice to role play as Petunia the Prettiest Orc, then perhaps he or she would be better off playing a game that does not have other players in it at all.

Firstly there are already many role-players in this game and I assume they deal with the wedding dress the same way they deal with all the other lore-breaking player actions, like people running around town throwing spells and attacks, people jumping everywhere (bad habit from Morrowind/Oblivion?) etc.

In other words they'll either ignore it or find a way to explain it.

More generally I do agree that it would be nice to have a male formal attire option. But I'd like this to be in addition to the wedding dress and work the same way - on female characters it would have the same appearance as on males.

Some shirt or doublet with linens or something. I don't know, really. StaticWax is right. Anyway, tuxedo would be better than a female dress)

I meant male orcs. Or Petunia is a male name?

Yes, that is how I want it, too. For me it is more immersion breaking, if I buy a dress and suddenly it turns into a tux, just because a male char wears it. It's just odd and not right. And I think dresses staying dresses no matter the gender is also good for RP. It gives you MORE options to play around. But, yes, of course I would like to have an additional wedding suit.

Skyrim had a wedding outfit for males too, though modders came out with a bunch of extra stuff.

well @MrGorv, I'm not an RP'er but I do agree that it inspires the same feelings as seeing that guy walking down the street with his pants around his knees because he *thinks* he looks "cool" but really just looks incredibly stupid.

I guess we will have those in fantasy land too.

But I still want a more typically male attire for my female Bosmer who's not very keen on dresses.

I think a male version makes sense but it shouldn't be a "tuxedo"
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

Well they can add some new form of formal attire to the crown shop, so long has they keep the dress also and never know females may want to wear the male formal attire also has a female and not have to wear a dress.

So put in something akin to a tux that players can also choose to buy and keep the wedding dress, allow both genders to use the things has is. No need to not allow males to a wear a dress, just add in something new that both genders can use the same. More money more options

But we have known since the announcement of the crown shop males could wear it has a dress, if it bugs you just place those people on ignore and outside of pvp won''t see them much

I think what we are thinking of is "proper formal military attire" like dress whites dress blues, the fancy kilt combo... but TES lore appropriate... which makes it difficult since all races/alliances have their own style for armor/military stuff.. hell even everyday normal clothes in each area is diff.

So what spans across all races/alliances is considered "male attire" normally and would be TES lore friendly and is formal enough for a wedding? i cant think of anything

I think a silly overly tall top-hat, obnoxious old-style tuxedo jacket that's cut high in the front with exaggerated tails in back and a monocle is the answer really.

Can this come with a fake moustache as well?
Would go great on my female Altmer.

Until ESO, never saw anything in TES that directly inferred homosexuality, and we saw the preponderance of female characters in dresses, while the preponderance of males (except for cults) tended to wear different clothing.

There were homosexual couples and Oblivion and Skyrim, Morrowind had Crassius Curio and of course Vivec, who is as far from heteronormative as possible.

I'm not sure this information is relevant to ESO wedding dresses, just throwing it out there.

Maybe, it's because TES setting is very close to the Middle Age, and in those times guys wearing female dresses were burned by inquisition? Probably.

Cross dressing isn't always a homosexuality thing either you have to keep in mind that, but that is beside the point if they do do male formal attaire they need to let females be able to wear it also. Females often wear the same clothing males do in elder scrolls games from time to time, so think the middle ground would be just to add male formal wear and let people choose which they want to buy.

... further explaining why male and female characters tended to wear different clothing in TES games prior to ESO.

Played Oblivion and Skyrim, and don't remember the homosexual couples. Perhaps you'd be so kind as to provide reference?

Shocking news: TES games are happening in a fantasy setting. Fantasy, as in not historical(ly accurate). Also, what @Rosveen said above you...

I quite like that male characters can wear dresses. I say let them be pretty! A separate male formal wear costume would be the proper way to address it, if at all.

I don't RP myself but I do like stumbling upon them occasionally out in a building in the middle of nowhere. I just run through the building, do my binness and move on(maybe scan(speed read) a couple sentences). It's just other people finding a way to enjoy themselves and the game. I don't bother them and they not me. Is all cool in my book, just a sayin'...
