... to not just npc's in towns, but the npc's you normally fight like bandits and such. Why didn't they do this from the start? I'm baffled as to why they would only allow certain npc's in town to be stolen from.
John 3:16 = For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I think its just how big that project is. It took them over a year to put it into the game, I guess we should give them a break even though we pay them...
The irony here is, I've looted bandit camps and caverns in Cyrodiil, and I've had to 'steal' from them even though they were quite clearly very villainous. Meanwhile, I could loot the fair people of Cyrodiil to my heart's content, the very people being looted and robbed by the bandits and Mannimarco's minions. There was certainly some irony there.

While there is a certain level of satisfaction to be gained from pickpocketing an enemy before you bash his skull in, the problem I have with it is that you're killing him anyway. It never really made much sense to me in some other games that allowed you to do this. You've looted the body, then killed the target. All your loot is now stolen and the dead body should have nothing on it. Unless you're planning to rip out his heart or something of course. Hopefully that kind of stuff never ends up in the pickpocket loot table.
Also, if you choose not to pickpocket him before hand, then why wouldn't you find the stuff on his corpse that you would have found pickpocketing?
