cant join normal dungeons

wtf is this *** this patch im getting sick of it it took me 1hour to find a grp for normal banished cells and now it says my vetern level is not high enough .....

Hey there @gresiac,

This issue occurs if you were in a group with a Veteran ranked player that set the dungeon mode to Veteran. Please group with a Veteran ranked player and request that they change the dungeon mode to Normal on the group menu. From there, you should be good to go.

If you are unable to group with someone, please let us know. We'll be happy to submit a ticket and get you assistance from a GM.

We didn't HAVE a vet in group yet... guess what. couldn't enter, no amount of inviting a vet to set it to normal helped.

I'm 28, for some reason we could enter but not our lvl 23. our 24 could enter, the 23 leaves, another 23 joins and he... could enter.

It really seems to be "turn the wheel, take yer chances".

We also wanted to let you know that we've submitted a bug for this and it is currently being investigated. The end goal is that you will not need a veteran player in your group to reset your dungeon mode. We appreciate your patience while this is looked into!

I have the same issue, and i ve found a trick, but you must have a vet char.
Make the group with your vet char, once group is formed , set the difficult mode first to veteran than to normal than make the new group leader for the scaling , log out , log your alt , get invite to the group , and now you should be able to port in the normal dung. I hope they soon fix it.

this bug still seems to be happening

i dont not have a veteran character at all, i am lvl 35 and this is my first one.
at some point in the game i did notice a message in the top right saying "dungeons changed to veteran mode" but i do not have an option to change it back.
im not sure if it was some combination of keys pressed (like maybe a debug dev mode) that enabled this switch but i cant seem to get out of it.
i have tried regrouping, relogging, restarting the client ... everything i can think of.
this has been happening for 2 days now.
i will try to contact a GM in game to help me but this issue does really need to be resolved please.

ok i have managed to find a different workaround.

i grouped with a veteran player and had them switch to veteran and back to normal.
this seemed to fix the bug and reset my non-vet player back to normal mode

maybe giving all players the button to switch modes would solve this. any low ranked player attempting to enter a vet dungeon would get squished into the floor in seconds so i dont think it would hurt.
hopefully the new champion system coming might alleviate this issue.

Try each point (being the group leader) until something works:

make sure nobody is in a dungeon
/reloadui
give someone else lead
take lead back
quicktravel, best with zone/phase change
relog
disband and regroup
/reloadui
quicktravel
/reloadui
disband and invite 1 person only then change setting
/reloadui
do this

Well I'm rank 1 veteran I pick NORMAL mode but no, the system invite me to VETERAN dung with 4 vet. lvl mobs. Lots of wipe then all leaves. WTF with this stupid system?

There used to be a bug where if group lead had been on a vet character whose dungeon setting was veteran and not normal then they switched to a non-vet and started a group with that non-vet's setting as normal it'll bug. They'll have to switch back and set the vet to normal mode, then return to their non-vet. (and vise-versa if they were on a non-vet first then switched)

Not sure its been fixed yet.

The dungeon would've scaled to your group lead, you setting normal mode would've made no difference if group lead had it set to veteran mode.

Yes, this is *still* happening. No, you do not have to have ever been grouped veteran character. Yes, it seems to be random. ALSO, the easiest, fastest, surest thing to do is:

1) disband group

2) vet player invites and resets each player ~ one at a time, by this i mean: invite, reset, disband, rinse and repeat

3) non vet players regroup

Attempting to reset the non vets while they are grouped is sometimes pointless as it only takes 1 person to have the bug and pass it along and so that method can become time consuming and frustrating.... and hell, this is frustrating enough.

In all seriousness, this is not actually a bug, it is yet another design flaw, thanks to someone at ZOS deciding for whatever reason that non vets should not have access to dungeon difficulty select.

In addition to this awesome advice also do as the admin advised. IF you have a vet character, log on them, get in the group, change it to normal. Relog on your character 1. Alternatively, drop Character 1, log on with vet and rejoin group resetting it.

Hope they fix this soon as relying on a veteran character as a work around is less than ideal.

/edit. Raised a customer support ticket in order that they can reset my access level to it’s true non vet level.

I'm having this problem and it's really annoying.

I don't have any veteran characters, so I can't fix this by myself and I really shouldn't have to ask someone for help.

I tried to run a dungeon with 3 other friends (the level 10 banished cells). Three of us had this bug. Two of them just created their first characters. None of us have veteran rank characters nor were any I knew online. I asked in Auridon zone chat, then Grahtwood zone chat, then Reaper's March zone chat for any veteran player to assist us to no reply.

So all of us decided to log off. We'll see if we decide to ever log back in.

This "bug" right here is enough reason for anyone to unsubscribe. It shouldn't be difficult to allow the drop down to be visible and just grey out the Veteran option until you hit the milestone to make it available. That way the drop down is there and revertible back to pre-veteran.

It's pretty inane that the solution still a year later is to be veteran rank to undo it. So I'll level to veteran rank myself just to switch to normal so I can run my level 10 friends through a normal dungeon so we can all get our skill point and level undaunted... or I'll uninstall. We'll see which way the fates lean.

EDIT: It should also goes without saying, but I'm going to say it anyway that this is killing your new player experience. Your veteran players are unaffected.

hi me and my freinds got this last night we are all lv 24, has this been fixed yet? we did everything recomended and still no result, would be very nice to do dungeons as we love PvE since we arent high enough lv to play PvP that effectivly yet.

I got this bug a while back. My character had never grouped with anyone and I tried to enter my first group dungeon solo. I was immediately slapped down with the error and could not enter. I had to find a vet kind enough to group with me. On the first try no one could be group leader. On the second group try ESO crashed for the vet and they had to come back. On the third I still could not enter through the door. I had to use a wayshrine and spawn inside the dungeon to get rid of the bug...ugh.. So glad the vet was kind and stayed to help me.

Zenimax prioritizes bugs based on the volume of customers /bug 'ing the same thing.

you will need to find a vet on console, i eventually found a really nice vet
