I suspect people want to STOCK up hundreds of items and then just farm the points over days quickly.
Aha! That was my reasoning last night when I thought of it and then decided it was a bad idea and open for abuse! Thanks @Rosveen!A sure way to bypass the fence limit and powerlevel alts. Do all stealing on a character with maxed out Legerdemain passives, send the items to be laundered by an army of alts.

Honestly, I just don't see the point. Stop hoarding, steal just enough to reach the daily limit and go do something else.
Wait... really? That definitely sounds like a bug.nerevarine1138 wrote: »The real irony here is that your daily limits reset when you level your Legerdemain, so if you're willing to take a few more risks and actually try picking pockets/locks, you'll be able to keep selling and laundering items.

Do you think this should be allowed?

I did report it, but I'm not sure if it's a bug or not. It definitely resets whenever you hit a new Legerdemain level, and you don't have to be doing anything special for that to happen. So it seems intentional (maybe to help accelerate leveling?).
Yeah, but the difference is this:pugyourself wrote: »A sure way to bypass the fence limit and powerlevel alts. Do all stealing on a character with maxed out Legerdemain passives, send the items to be laundered by an army of alts.

I agree, although I don't see this as a problem. We can already do this for clothing, blacksmithing, woodworking, enchanting, etc. (I pass powerful weapons, clothing, glyphs to alts to allow them to decon/research/etc for leveling). So I don't think this "breaks" the way the game works.
If each of those 800 items is 30 gold (which is what most stolen items are worth) then you're making 24,000 gold. And that's a conservative estimate, because obviously you're going to want to get as many green (100 gold each) and blue (250 gold each) stolen items as possible in that 800.pugyourself wrote: »But it does let me steal up to 800 items a day using my main and launder/sell them with my alts while leveling them.

OP: The system was designed that way on purpose. Your character has to launder/fence the items themselves or risk losing them if they are caught by the gards.
Yes, it's inconvenient, but it's part of the whole JS mechanic and I think it is well done.
Because it makes so much sense to fence grapes & beets. Seriously. This completely screws up provisioning since 95% of provisioning items are stolen.
Concenaros wrote: »The whole point behind the system is the NPC's are supposed to know that the items are stolen, but won't report you to the guards because you're a big bad criminal. As such, they also don't want to deal with them, so they let you do all your other banking because well, it makes sense. They're a bank, they need money in their stores as well as items. Think logically about what you're suggesting first.
If you can deposit stolen items, then there's not much point in having specific fences and places where you can sell/launder those stolen items. People would just go to their bank.
It doesn't make sense with the current system. Zeni won't do this.
If we're going to go gung-h0 with realism and immersion........AFrostWolf wrote: »If I don't have a bounty then Technically It's not stolen. I don't see any Serial numbers etched anywhere on it.

While these stolen items doesn't have serial numbers, it doesn't mean tamriel do not have any other way to tell them apart....maybe....just maybe.....that "red" tinge line around the product actually MIGHT be visible to tamriel citizens......
