There are apps for people who prefer the forum backgrounds & post backgrounds darker with light text. For example, if you are using Chrome (along with other Browsers), Hacker Vision is one that will be a one-button press to make it easy on your eyes. You can set it to only work on certain websites and stop/resume it whenever you want.

There are also some more in-depth customization apps, if you really want to choose how everything looks on websites of your choosing.

The new look is fine for me TBH, but I'm typing this using the Hacker Vision app right now and honestly it looks like a great color scheme (Black background, grey post background, medium-light text). It's quite soothing on the eyes if that's what you are looking for.

Type 'high contrast' into search and you will see a few options including the Hacker Vision app I mentioned, another named High Contrast, and from there you can click one of them and press the 'Related' tab to see other apps related to these ones. I typically read reviews before using them. I also see a lot of the same ones for Firefox in their app store. I imagine IE will have a similar app store however don't get used to it as they have a new browser on its way (atm called Spartan).

I'm mostly good with it in concept.

The font works.
The foreground/background colors should be a choice in a dropdown.

Rotating backdrop graphics should either rotate or be a choice.

If it's to "not" be in line with St. Patrick's day then that could be accurate, however their previous color scheme was more in line with St. Patrick's Day (Green), not this.

Lastly, why the heck would they do anything for St. Patrick's Day (not a TES holiday) yet not other non-TES holidays? Heck they don't even add anything in-game or on forums for TES holidays... so unless it's to make sure there's no confusion that the green was not for St. Patrick's Day to newcomers, it most likely has no relation to it.

I find the font distracting. To me it looks like some clown decided to randomly bold a few letters per each word.

Well, their logo was changed to green (ish) as well. Google "eso" and you'll see the green logo.

@ZOS_AlanG , why don't they offer settings options for the forums under account?

It could be a limited number of skins/color combos/fonts, etc and could be easily implemented via CSS.

This would give everyone a chance to make a desirable view to taste without leaving it wide open and preventing a consistent look.

I actually like the new colors, etc.

My only complaint would be that the green color of the Dev/Mod posts doesn't stand out nearly as clearly now.

How about re-reskinning them back to the way they were. This should keep some people from coming here unless that was the plan.

Recommend your designers look into csszengarden.com/ All major browsers support CSS and have for years. They would be a radio button click away...

I like it brighter, as dark backgrounds like at "Blizzards" hurt my eyes a lot. :'( The slight blue that you guys use goes easier on my eyes than full white or black (as background color for the font), so that reading works fine for me.

That's why I understand others who might have issues now, everyone has different eyes and maybe it is something for the future. That said, I know how hard it is to set up a forum for so many different devices and "type of eye diseases" that we folks suffer under so no hard feelings and kudos for the hard work!

There's a reason for that...

The white border along the sides is too bright. Wow. Coupled with the solid black footer, it looks really odd. The body background image should definitely go down further and they should use a little more grey on the sides. I mean, they actually used "white". Literally.

It is a very cold set of colors. Winter. Not vibrant at all.

They do use CSS. As a matter of fact, blocking an override CSS is how you revert back, at least for a little while. Eventually, they will make the new look permanent and won't need the overriding CSS file.
