Same thought, nothing yet in crown store to buy yet....

See thats why I am scared and a "dooms day sayer"... They cant make money on this model until they make something in the store that people want to buy...

and what do people want to buy.....?

p2w items which they need to stay top tier...

I dont want to waste a heap of time on a game that just goes p2w

GW2 has ZERO p2w items in their store and they're MUCH more successful than ESO is now and most likely will ever be.

I spent at least $120 in that store.

    Your logic fails... hard.

Make an alt, start from scratch. Use your v14 to give money and stuff to you newbie. Other than that I've got nothin.

Most adults give money to a company in exchange for goods or services equivalent to the payment made. Whether or not you feel the goods and services ZOS is delivering under the new payment model is worth a subscription fee is an individual decision. If you don't feel it's worth it, there's nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I'm irritated that ZOS teased all this new content being developed with our subscription funds only to delay it and divert resources to console development and cash shop / rebranding of payment model. But if I thought the new payment model was worth my money right now (since there is no DLC for the foreseeable future) I'd stay subbed. Right now though I plan on taking a break from my sub until I see that new content. Sure it's not a lot of money, but I don't like to just throw money at a business without feeling that I'm getting good value for it. I've paid more than enough over the past year.

Some people feel what they are getting for their money under the new payment model is worth it, and that's great. I'm happy for them. But people who say that we all need to continue our subs to "love and support" the game make me think that some people see ZOS as a charity case or a sick relative. It's not; it's a business, and that business will never love you back.
Happy All the Holidays To You and Yours!

Hate to bring up WoW but yea, WoW is so worth $15 you don't even have to question that.

I'm sorry but the pathetic +10% xp for subbing is a complete joke. You took away mob xp and all this does is barely put it back. +15-20% would be more agreeable. And of course an option for the whiners to turn it off if they wanted to.

Millions who have unsubscribed disagree with you on WoW..

Oh, are you talking about those 10 million subscribers WoW has in it's 10th year of being live?

WoW is the most successful video game ever made. Nothing can compare to it and to take their decreasing subs due to missing content (same issue as ESO) as an argument is a bit pathetic.

I know those "DLCs" but they NEVER said something about it in form of being a DLC. They said NOTHING. That's it.

There are what, 3 or 4 zones under development since 6-10 months and they haven't figured it out yet what DLCs will cost or what DLCs will be there? I thought that's what they did the last 6 months.

... the cost is extremely inexpensive. We will get crowns, we will get DLC, we will get loyalty rewards, and we will be helping to support the game further. Also, you can pause your membership and still have access to the game if for any reason you change your mind later....

Have they announced something new? I thought the loyalty rewards program was abandoned.

Can someone convince me to stay subbed?...

The exp boost means nothing to me. I am v14 and have maxed every skill and morph in the game. Currently (even with the nerf to the cp grinds) I can get my 1 CP enlightenment out of the way in 25 minutes. (Only have enlightenment for 1 CP a day so meh I only save 2 minutes or so)

I have 2 million gold so dont care about the 10% increase.

Nothing in the store is something I want. When it first comes out and I get the cp for being a member since day one and all that I will get literally 100% of the crown items that I want.

SO what is left? DLCs? I can just get them when they release them once every 10 million years? In all honesty though with jokes aside it will be cheaper to just buy them, then to sub and none of the other things help me?

AM I MISSING SOMETHING?!!?!?!?! HELP!!!! I love tes but....

Gratz to you on doing this playing 1 toon...I myself broke that 2 months back when I left pvp and "gasp" made alts to make a guild and play pve (hadn't touched much if any of it since beta) well that's opened up a fresh approach on the game and actually creating a guild and growing it has as well. Have you ever though of helping newer players to the game? doing pvp? ( hadn't noticed you mentioning that) or doing in game deeds events for others example our guild will get together in the lowbie zones and craft gear for starting players to introduce them to the game .
I myself have noticed that people with the same drive as yourself tend to get burned out quickly on these mmos its great you've got the game mastered I envoy you on that since I haven't yet.
If your looking to group with any newly made toon send me a message be glad to work with you on it :)

Well, for perspective, a guar pet is 1300 crowns. That's $13. So imagine what they'll charge for a map from there.

Even at $30-$40 for Imperial City, still cheaper than paying for $15 worth of crowns every month ( "sub" ), when you consider the rate they actually develop content for the game.

Donating is if you give money with nothing expected in return. Support is similar.

You've been given access to the game for a full year as a subscriber. That's not a donation, that's a business transaction.

Complaining about it now is like complaining about buying Lucky Charms for years before they added Purple Horseshoes. The product and service changed. That's what happens.

There is absolutely no alternative reality where a one zone DLC could cost $20 or more. That would be just ridiculous.

Really? SWtOR does it every time. You just label the DLC as "expansion content".

Hell TSW sells "expansion" dlc" anywhere from $10 to $30.

SW:TOR DLCs cost < $20 and offer more than just a new zone. Most TSW DLCs cost 10€, there is only one that's 20€. Just looked both up right now.

Okay, well if you think ZOS is going to sell an entire map for the same price as a cosmetic pet in their new cash cow, feel free to continue. I'd prefer to keep a more realistic expectation until shown otherwise. ;)

Sure, I know what you want to say but I just say a pricing higher than $20 / 20€ for just a new zone without anything else is not working.

If I stay subbed but want to buy the DLC packs while I am subscribed will I be able to do that, yes I know I will have them as a subscriber but if I want to unsubscribe I may still want that content . hopefully I made that clear enough :)

I know what you're asking for but I don't know the answer.

But I guess you can still buy the DLCs in the Crown Store while you pay the sub so you own them.

The ONLY reason I'm still subbed is for the 10% reduction to research times. Once I'm done with those I will cancel my sub. I'm at the same place you are, the other bonuses just aren't worth the monthly sub. And to lose DLC if you cancel your sub is ludicrous. If you got it "free" with your sub money you shouldn't ever lose it IMO. It's not free anway, you were paying monthly to get it. It should NEVER go away....

Optimum sub point is 14 to 24 months in. That gives you an assortment of store items to backward-spend on while alleviating the in-game currency glut that most long-term sub players wind up with.

I'm expecting them to bundle exclusive items in large crown purchases, which may turn out to be the better method of supporting the game if the sub perks aren't that perky for you.

The only compelling day-one thing is the guar. I can see new players subbing for one month because it's most cost-effective to get the guar and a few noob boons while you're at it.

Zenimax will probably spin that into a "huge spike in interest" then downplay how that spike only becomes a regular subscriber on average four times out of one thousand.

I'm also really curious about the price of DLC. At $20 it seems like is to cheep when considering 50X the effort is going to go into making the DLC in comparison to the mounts. At $50 it seems to expensive to realistically expect that people will pay it. I don't envy whoever is counting the beans over at ZOS.

I'm unsubbing for sure, I remember reading that there's going to be no new content for months and I'm relatively inactive currently... There's not much point paying for a game purely for crowns which I may or may not use any time soon.
