Thing is they don't have to sub come Tuesday. If they buy the game, they can just play it as is, if they want the added benefits then they can sub.
To me it seems like a Win/Win situation. We get more people plaything this great game, we get some returning players, new players all coming to play the game. With the new model, perhaps the pop will grow and give this game more legs. In about 3 months (less) we have the console versions coming on board which won't impact the PC servers other than those migrating to the console versions, but that can bring in a ton of revenue from the sales of the game alone, which in-turn will get even more people plaything this game.
At the end of the day, if the population grows and sales of the game itself are good, we are looking at further support, added content etc. I just hope that those coming in and enjoying the game are not going to get slammed by some of the people on here that just tear the game at every opportunity that they can, taking even someone's positive feeling for the game and turning that into a negative/the game sucks situation.
I just hope that many of the more senior gamers reach out and help newcomers. I know that I have received a lot of assistance in game from many here and I pay it forward as much as I can.

Based upon some of the comments Ive seen in game, and rubber banding weirdness my end earlier today, they could have just as easily bolted it to the moon lol.
Connection quality probably wouldnt be all that different >_<

✭The servers are under stress every day now. More random loading screens which never load, more crashes than I've seen since launch. The next few days are going to be very sad indeed if they don't add additional hardware. Everyone returning will have a poor experience and leave again. What a wasted opportunity to make a second first impression.0 -

I. get infinite load screens a lot especially in Daggerfall. I got one this morning when I was just standing around chatting.That which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

Not my "theory" - I was merely playing devil's advocate since the poster I responded to tied lag directly to existing servers. And those other wackadoo theories you so eloquently spewed (and misspelled) are defintely not mine.
So then, you apparently have some sort of proof then that the current servers are the root of the lag.
Enlighten us all with your investigative prowess and share your proof with us mere mortals.

beside you talk about lag well I have more enough lag this weekend and that was without any "new/return" player so i think i use to it by now lol.
