When you decon something you craft do you get back all the components or how does it work.

    You have a chance of getting back some of the materials, you never get all the iron for example it took to make it but you might get some.
    Often it is just the trait or style stone.

    Yup those can be gotten from deconstructing.

    Not a glyph ... or at least in all my deconstructing I've never seen it (I have two characters that have earned the '1000 deconstructions' achievement).

    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    To change? That doesn't make sense - you can't change a trait in an item that exists.

    Yes you can decon any level of item to learn a trait.

    it seems you never get as much stuff back out of the things you made yourself, as the ones you loot or someone made for you...

    & its always worth it to do the research, the more you know the more "set items" you can make at the unique crafting stations

    At higher levels of extraction, you can get back most of the mats, along with the trait and style gem. However you only get one of the last level of temper used, and that is a chance, not a given, to get that.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    IMO you should get 1 temper consistently for the item level you are deconstructing. It's such a waste to deconstruct things and hardly get any tempers back.

    Is it me or since 1.6 do you get more xp for making things and less for deconstructing?

    I'm thinking there is a pattern there... the higher your skill/points the more you "get back".
