Thanks guys! We actually were just able to repro this internally (turns out it doesn't happen to everyone every time). We'll work on fixing this for an upcoming patch.

Oh, and make sure they realize this bug leaves you without soul magic as well.

Took a while before I could post since I had to have my forum account created, but here goes.

So like the others I skipped the tutorial at character creation, resulting in neither the propthet appearing nor the soul magic skilline being available. I created the character just after 1.6 came live.

Now I don't know if this is true for the others, but in addition to these two things being unavailable, my Champion menu is inaccessible as well, both on the character I created at 1.6 launch and the characters I'd created at game launch a year ago. (I hadn't logged on since launch until 1.6 release). I tried creating yet another character without skipping the tutorial and the Champion was available already inside coldharbour.

The achievements on my bugged 1.6 character doesn't have the "Escape from Coldharbour" achievements unlocked so I'm thinking that's pretty key to why some of it isn't acting as it should, maybe because the tutorial skip doesn't set the tutorial quests as completed.

Just created a new character with no issues and I skipped the tutorial. I created a Breton Templar in the EP. Maybe because I already had a character that completed the tutorial or possibly class or race related?

Did you complete the newly revamped tutorial? If not then it might be class/race related.

I haven't played through the new tutorial at all, just skipped the whole thing and I thought that might have something to do with it.

Nah I haven't played the new tutorial yet. I did the old tutorial one time when the game launched.

Something is obviously not right with The Prophet. I spawned into Stonefalls just now at level 5 to unload some stolen loot. The Prophet appeared right beside me for two seconds and then disappeared, never giving me the chance to interact with him as to finding the Harborage and start the quest. I went to the Outlaws Refuge and he appeared there and I could interact with him and start the quest. I stood at the wayshrine without moving so there was no reason for him to disappear within two seconds after the system notifying me to speak to The Prophet. Quite odd...

I created a character after 2.16 and skipped the tutorial and ran into the same issue. I didn't get the Soulshriven in Cold Harbour achievement, the Sealed Urn, or the Soul Magic tree, and The Prophet won't spawn. I just ran a test and created a new character and completed the tutorial and then created ANOTHER character and skipped the tutorial, and that one correctly got the achievements and the Soul Magic skill line.

Right now this basically means my character is in a broken state and is going to be shelved for an older one even though I really wanted to level a templar with the changes in 1.6. I don't want to recreate him because I already dumped 10k into inventory space and a ton of time into getting crafting skills up.

It seems the only way to avoid this currently is to play through the new tutorial at least once before skipping it on subsequent characters.

I have the exact same issue. I'm not going to remake my character either, just gonna continue playing him until a possible fix comes out.

Funny thing is, even though I still haven't earned the achievement I noticed I still have the dye color. Weird.

I was really hoping I would see a fix in the patch notes after today's maintenance. I hope you guys are still working on fixing this problem in the near future. A lot of players could potentially quit the game entirely because of this. Hopefully we will receive some sort of compensatory reward for the inconvenience.

Oops. That would explain it then. Thanks.

Ok when is this problem fixed ?? I have to know before I continue to play with this character.. People are complaining about this for 10 days maybe more. I just started to have fun while playing my character and now its broken. Its because after the update you'll have to do the tutorial at least once and ppl who skipped this are stuck. Are we back in Beta ??

I now have this problem on a character created last April/May.

Pretty appalling ZOS still have no ETA on a core game-breaker bug. It was bad enough there were numerous of this type of bug on release but the fact ZOS can still break something like this is truly ludicrous.

I was really hoping this would be fixed with today's patch. I almost wonder if I should just reroll my level 20ish templar :(

It's stunning that this isn't fixed in 2.0.2, it shows un utter disregard for players who can't progress on the core story of the 1-50 game .. and there are other active threads reporting game-breakers elsewhere .. guess the devs are too busy making stuff like OP pots for the Store. :|

Well, the good news is that as soon as I logged in the Prophet showed up and I was able to do the first quest. The bad news is I still don't have soul magic. I've returned to the ship that brought me to Daggerfall.

I had the same issue, but here's how I resolved it!

What you need to do is go back to the house/boat your character started in, as soon as you step in it you should get the skyshard, skill line and achievement.

    Hope it helps!

Ugh. Apparently I misremembered where I started. You gave me the push to create a new character and go to the right place. All good now! Thanks, Rebbon!
