How does pvp feel in 1.6?

I took a short break from eso because i was just sick and tired of what pvp had become. It was getting to the point where I could not even hurt my opponents because of how many shield spells and heals they had going and it was very un fun to fight. Sniping from stealth for over 1000 damage and their shields were not even taken out from it was incredibly frustrating and im wondering if that was addressed at all? I couldn't really tell from reading the patch notes and its better to get actual players input on it.

People are dying all over the place. Faster than in 1.5 probably, esp DK's.

You can still make some very survivable builds, some can even have OK DPS, but to me it seems much easier to kill most opponents than before. Including myself.

Well; as far as shields go, I don't think it is much different. They did get a 15% nerf while in Cyrodiil though and you can stack enough damage that one should probably not hold up very long.

Something is wrong. Snipe should not be doing 1k damage, especially against a shield. That is barely more than a dot tick. 1k in 1.6 is like 100 damage in 1.5.

My DK shields are typically gone in 1or 2 hits and its an 8k shield after the nerf. I'm getting hit for 4k hits while blocking so something is really wrong with your snipe damage.

I can agree with this. Snipe seems inconsistent. Sometimes I will stealth snipe for 13k plus camo hunter of 5.5k plus a heavy attack of 10k. Other times the snipe will only hit for like 1.5k...

Pretty sure the 1k snipes the OP is talking about is pre-1.6. Hence the entire point of the thread.

Im talking about before the patch that was normal damage for snipe back then, for a sneak attack.

still unbelievable to me that people complain about someone countering their overpowered ability that can hit for a third of someone's health, stun them, heal debuff them, and all that from the safety of stealth

Snipe is nerfed . Shields stack even more now . If you didn't like it before , prepare for bow rage now .

Ugh is the game at the point where instead of offense being too good like in the very early days of the game, its now that everyone is so tanky no one can score a kill on any half decent build? I already know I have watched people duel until they just stopped because neither could kill each other. Should that really be possible?

Honestly there's too many bugs, glitches and possible exploits right now it's near impossible for me to give a honest assessment of 1.6 PVP . No joke Man .

I have no excuse not to come back and try it out since its f2p, but I dont want the to feel the pain if it can be avoided. At least shield blocking people have been properly fixed right? I know that was at least 60% of the problem right there.

Depends entirely on your armor for how survivable you are. Heavy can wade into a fight without losing a limb. Medium can dart in and out of the fray. Light has to stay back without adequate damage shields. Also make use of your armor abilities. They complete the package.

Overall damage has been reduced, but overall cost for defensive maneuvers has increased, resulting in quicker kills. You can no longer zerg-surf, 6+ people on you and you are dead -- no wiggle room. For less than six it depends entirely on how you spec yourself, and the more people you can survive wailing on you, the less people you can kill. For offense you must sacrifice defense and vice versa.

Player skill can still grant the ability to tank and kill up to three people, but most cannot handle two.
I suppose four could happen if those four were mediocre PvErs with no experience PvPing...

Defensive maneuvers like blocking, roll dodging, and CC-breaking have their relative costs double from 1.5. Perma-blocking is a thing of the past. But there are people who can block for a really long time. As mentioned in my previous post, those people typically score close to 0 kills without backup.

OP if you're gonna keep asking about the state of the game and for ppl to essentially theory craft how your bow build will perform, why not just log in next week and see for your self, instead of complaining about ppl being too survivable based on duels you've seen? FYI any 2 good duelers can go on pretty much forever w/ w/e build they're using, both in 1.5 and 1.6, that's not suitable for judging open world pvp though.

The changed AoE caps are a good counter against people stacking on a square centimeter and spamming AoE!

Had to rage out tonight.... complete and utter joke, again today, no alliance icons, lag everywhere, even on a low populated campaign like Haderus EU. ZOS you better get ur crap together as my patience is running out after 12 months of paid beta testing.

Templar jesus beam hit me for 16k and 12k today after the hotfix when I was at 40-50% HP. Compete and utter trash. Got feared to the floor, got stuck inside Alessia bridge... when I looked above.... even more jesus beams. The patch today didnt fix anything.

They have one week and if Tamriel Unlimited comes out, and it's still an unplayable mess, EVEN in low pop servers... then I'm done.

PvE is laggy as well, horses feel weird and randomly stop... If Tamriel Unlimted goes live in this mess I'm afraid ZOS will be losing more loyal members than actually gaining them...
