Make Champ Points Gain Like Ulti?

rsiloliveiraub17_ESO
Could it be a viable solution?

If the idea is to limit the amount of Champ Points you can get a day, why not make it like the Ultimate Gain?

Whenever you are doing damage, healing, etc, you get a buff, that increases the amoun of XP you have till you fill the champ point bar.
That way it would still be limited but people that would want to play 24/7 would still get more CP than people that would just rush to the CP cap/day.

Someone probably suggested that already, I think would be a nice solution.

My proposal for the Champion system can be found here:

That being said, it has been mentioned before in these forums that Champion Point gain be time-based similar to Ulti gain. And, I think it's definitely an interesting idea that's totally worth exploring.

    No.

I remember seeing posts about this during the PTS. Here were my counter-arguments.
    1. A time-based system is too easy to exploit.
    2. A time-based system does not reward completion of difficult content or efficient playstyles.
    3. A time-based system creates a permanent gap between new and veteran players.

If I'm a new player, there's no way for me to catch up to other players through hard work or smart playing. No matter what I do, I will always be a year behind those who have been playing since launch. If your solution is: "Spend more time in-game," this will not work. As it stands, "spend more time in-game" is synonymous with spending more time earning XP. Hence, grinding exists. If you have a problem with not wanting to grind, then you're admitting that you are:
    1. Aware of an efficient way to gain XP, but choose not to participate.
    2. Do not want to participate because "it's not fun," or it's "difficult and time-consuming"

More importantly, a time-based system is too easy to exploit. By letting ESO run in the background, I can simply switch programs, craft a dagger/pick a flower/kill a mob, and switch back every 10 minutes. If you want to try to tie a time-based system into a point system, it already exists. It's called XP. If your beef is with XP gains then you need to reformulate your post.

    No.

There is no reason to cap or limit Champion points anymore than a cap should be in place to prevent leveling. It exists already, it's called "experience points".
