Title says it all. Any workaround?

No anti-virus blocking.
Only device in the network.
Speedtest evaluated my speed as usual.

I am not going to sit here for ages and wait for this to download.

    Hey there!

We do have a general article for slow download speeds, which we'll include in a spoiler below. Let us know if any of the options in there help out!
First, players should try temporarily disabling the firewall and anti-virus. Default Windows firewalls will come on automatically after others are disabled, so keep in mind that the Windows firewall may need to be disabled, too. Always remember to turn them on again after the download completes.

Players can also try opening the following ports on their router:
    •TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
    •TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
    •TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507

If that doesn't work, they can try bypassing the router and plugging the computer in directly to the internet source to improve download speeds.

Download speeds are also related to internet connection speed, which can act as a limiting factor. If the overall connection speed seems slow, players can verify it through a third party source like SpeedTest. This site, and many others, will calculate internet connection speed (higher numbers are better). If it turns out that the overall internet connection speed is slow, we recommend the players to contact their Internet Service Provider and have them troubleshoot the connection with them.

Last but not least, they can change the Maximum Download Speed of the launcher. Click on the gear icon in the top right-hand corner to open up the Launcher Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the menu, and look for the section titled Maximum Download Speed. Click on the drop-down menu and select 5MBps. This should help speed things up!

I tried all of the suggested points. My download speed stays between 200KB/s and 1MB/s.

This is my speedtest on my current machine:
    4189322254.png

YouTube videos etc. are loading as fast as usual. The only thing giving me a headache is the launcher. It seems like it can't get past 1.01MB/s. It just stops there.

Edit: It seems like stopping and resuming the download fixes the problem. It has been downloading for ~3 hours now with a top speed of 1MB/s. I am not sure what causes the downstream limitation, but that's for sure not working as intended. After interrupting the download I can finally download with 5MB/s.

Lets be honest here shall we? The game servers and the patch servers have had issues with crowds since early beta (which I, like many others, were present for), and with just a few seconds on google, I can bring up dozens of other threads about internet speeds being low on the patcher despite their internet being 50+mb/s elsewhere. I'm personally only downloading at 2.5mB/s on the launcher, even though I have averaged around 110mb/s DL speeds when I test my network tonight.

The main reason I want you to be honest is that you guys are going to be opening the flood gates in about a month from now, and if your servers can't handle the loads now.... well lets just say that the first few days after the changeover will likely see major complaints and demands for refunds since they aren't able to access the game (though the people that demand the refunds are going to miss out IMO).

Now you've fixed the game servers up quite a bit since beta, but the patch servers don't seem to have gotten any love. I suggest you guys get working on that really fast. Maybe rent some server banks from Amazon, they rent out some high powered servers, and even host a plethora of US Government servers (so they are quite capable of following a NDA in reference to proprietary information).

I am now downloading at 25kb/s this is a joke. Please allow file sharing download or similar.

also when i pause and restart the downloader it goes up to around 500kb/s and then drops back again within 30 seconds. the only way i can get good speeds is to pause and resume every thirty seconds

and dont tell me to open certain ports do this do that. it is all already done. And the speeds are less than dialup. My speedtest rates me at 12mb/s yet your downloader runs at less than 50kb/s

I am not very impressed. I am likely going to miss two days of gameplay WHICH I PAID FOR. purely waiting for this patch to download

Same problem here. On patch day I could download with 2-3 mb/s (too bad I had to shut down my PC), but today launcher downloads only with 70kb/s.

Noticed a major difference in speed between having the ESO launcher minimized & maximized. When maximized on my screen the download was more often than not around 1.12mbs. If minimized the speed often dropped down to 400kbps. You'd see the download speed up again when maximizing the launcher.
