So What's Next?

@ZOS,

Ok so you've given us 1.6, rebalancing, justice system, champion system and updated provisioning. That's great! I'm having a blast so far. All things considered though this is fluff that should of been implemented at the release of the game back in March 2014. So as the initial shine of 1.6 wears off and the dust begins to settle it begs the question, what/when is the next real content we get to chew on? A new zone maybe? More dungeons?

Let's push 1.7 sooner than later considering these new toys aren't that shiny, after all we've been playing with them in other ES games before ESO.

No more major updates this year, said by ESO

and to top it of, consuls release is the next big thing. That means for every update from now on, they will need to fix it for 3 platforms not just one, so get ready for long between updates now. Update 1.5 -> 1.6 was 4 months.

Yup. Console is the next "big thing".

Yeah I know, and no I'm not kidding. I watch the live streams. I just don't roll over and accept the world the way it is, I try to enact change. In this case it may be fruitless, however I won't for a second pull the wool over my eyes and pretend like the last couple months of waiting was worth it. This update, imho, was just a bunch of "fixes" to a severely stunted and premature game launch with "like new" systems that had been available in previous titles.

I'd prefer the company realize that some of their customers are still awaiting a real content update.

Edit: oh we did get a crown store, that's actually new I guess.

Yup ^this basically. I may be a tad cynical here, but I felt it necessary to present a thread of the truth in the mist of the "I love 1.6" posts today.

I'm just gonna go ahead and not be such a massive pessimist like most of this forum has become.

Don't expect any new content until July-ish when console players start reaching VR1. Then we'll probably see VR ranks removed at that point and Justice PvP some time in August.

Spellcrafting we should see in late August/early September, considering it will have been in development for well over a year - it was pretty far ahead in development at Quakecon in July last year and the break in development with 1.6 has probably given the designers some time to think about Spellcrafting.

Expect the first "real" content in October when the first DLC releases, which is Wrothgar and possibly Clockwork City, Murkmire and the other 3 zones if these zones are all 1 package like a traditional MMO expansion, which it probably will be imho.

What I find unbelievable is how malleable some players are into thinking that waiting absorbent amounts of time for new content and rehashing "like new" systems that were available in previous ES titles over 4+ years ago is normal. There are so many other titles out there pushing content at a much faster pace not making excuses for the number of platforms they need to code for.

I really do enjoy the game but it just feeling like it's missing something. Oh yea, we don't have the thieves guild, dark brotherhood, spell crafting or any other systems that have been defining characteristics of ES titles that ESO has failed epicly on delivering.

The point is, let's get the systems that have been in the previous ES titles in the game and get rolling on more content that is truly new and unique to this game. Lets see some new zones or dungeons in the next quarter please.
