Problem with my horse, or my understanding of the change?

Prior to the patch, I had 3 Imperial horses. One had been solely trained on apples, with at least 45 feedings (I'm uncertain if it was 46 or 48, I just remember seeing 45 a day or three ago). The other two were mid-to-low-30s, one fed solely wheat, and the other mostly oats (I think I'd messed up a couple of times and fed other things).
My combined horse now has 31 as its stat in all three aspects. While one of my stats prior to the patch may have, indeed, been 31, they were all 3 different, and 31 would have been the lowest.
I am confused. I had thought that your stat in each aspect would have carried over to the same aspect in the new system, i.e., my speed would have been 45+. I did NOT expect all 3 stats to be identical, when they were not identical prior to the patch.
What am I misunderstanding, or am I bugged?

Kragorn✭✭✭✭✭That 31 in all three is not what ZOS said would happen, you're quite right, this is clearly a HUGE bug especially for those with one maxed-out and others they were working on after the change was announced.Edited by Kragorn on March 4, 2015 7:40AM0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Sounds like a bug. If you did not have all 3 stats the same before, they should not be the sameafter.
But on a related note, in case you are not aware: If you had a speed horse with 45 speed, in the new patch your speed will show as 30. The actual speed will be the same, just the display changes.
This is because the default 15% speed all horses have is now 'baked' into the horse itself. Your personal riding skill goes on top of that.
So: your 1.5 horse was showing 45 speed.
Your 1.6 riding skill shows 30 speed.
Your actual 1.6 speed is 45, because the horse has 15 speed by itself.0 -

With regards to relogging, I tried that right off the bat, with no change, and again just now, with no change. They're all still showing 31.
Thank you especially Sharee for the clarification as to how speed is now calculated. I really do think, though, that the speed was closer to 50 (I'm betting on 48 and kicking myself for not screenshotting it), as I remember thinking that it was just a couple away from hitting 50 and thought I might actually do that before the patch.
Regardless, they should not all be 31, and that's definitely a bug then because none of the aspects were equal prior to the patch.0 -
Seravi✭✭✭✭✭Just checked my horses after reading this and they converted correctly. I had one with some stamina and the rest in speed maxed, one maxed on speed and two low levels for my new alts. Sounds like yours is bugged.
All of my horses are the imperial white horse. 0 -
Glierhuin✭✭✭Remember only the feeded stats were converted to your riding skill. The horses all had base stats, which is no longer the case. So you should be missing different points depending on the horses base stats.I have approximate knowledge of many things.0
