Haha, that or we're passionate about our hobbies... though admittedly, being able to post from cell phones nowadays sure does make it easier to be on forums a lot . The lack of an off-topic subforum definitely limits the number of (non-spammy) posts that people can write up generally, for sure.... I do wonder about myself sometimes having beaten the CM's to the 2500 posts badge, though... kind of scary if you think about it

Fun fact: Somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15% of my posts were probably made while waiting on loading screens back in the day, when dinosaurs roamed the earth and the megaserver had to spin up the first copy of a world zone due to how few people were in the psijic beta at that point..... Heavy users surpassing the forum team isn't that surprising to me and quite the norm actually. What I find scary is the obvious lack of community interaction and generally low traffic on these boards. I know, I know; forums are yesterday, FB, Twitter and twitch today and neural implants tomorrow, but still, the core audience will always mingle on official boards.
If there only was more to do around here (guild posts showing up in recent is a step in the right direction!) than to complain and literally waiting half a year on answers, we'd seen many more folks hitting that 2500 badge and a bigger forum community in general. Tales of the dead and AuA question gathering is just to infrequent to truly encourage people to put in some more effort and people still see it going to waste by not getting any acknowledgement.
I still cannot get behind neglecting official boards when you entertain having ones in the first place, I could possibly understand (but wouldn't like) going with out them, but when you got them, support them. After all, when things go wrong or not forward anymore, people won't turn to FB or Twitter, but the forums. It is in your best interest to have an atleast content and entertained community there, since chances are they're going to be much more helpful and welcoming then.
We may not have the farthest reach here, but more impact, especially on existing customers. Even on potential ones, as it is still common to check out the official boards for the overall health and state of the game and its community. Currently, the low traffic and not so great atmosphere (it's improving tho) doesn't reflect the game very well. You can say that it never does, but I've seen it way, way better with just a little more effort from the companies and developers side.
Well, they said they're going to improve that (again), so let's see what happens.
