Why is nightblade the only class without a Damageshield or a Selfheal?

While a sorces are whining big time, i thought the moment is right to ask why nightblades are the only class who have no selfheal or damageshield. This is a real problem in PvP...

It appears that nuance was lost on ZOS when they replaced our Catalyst (and Argonians' Amphibious) passive with crappy alternatives.

Yes, HoTs that heal based on damage dealt (no great for stamina users and a disadvantage against burst damage) and a heal based on how many enemies you hit (not good for less than 5 enemies, but then you're taking more damage anyways), and heals based on when a target dies (not reliable in PvP or useful in boss fights).

Pchela✭✭✭✭✭Prepatch 1.6 I did quite well with the potion boost passive from NB siphoning and the alchemist crafter boost as well, paired up with strife. We shall see what happens for 1.6. There's also a morph of Blur (Mirage) from the Assassin's line that now grants Minor Resolve buff. Blur used to be sorta meh, so interested to see how it will work out.

How I wish we still had the LOL tag. We will see if the 1.6 fixes actually make Dark Cloak useful more than ~30% of the time.

Tamanous✭✭✭✭✭Magicka NB has plenty of healing and shield options. Stamina NB can take bone shield and benefit from the major stamina buffs this patch.
Both builds can maintain permanent major ward and major resolve. Both can vanish (not perfect yet but better this patch than last) and fear.

Best result of this thread is that the bad NBs quit there class and move on to being bad with another class. Biggest perk of every major patch.

✭✭✭✭✭I am not a NB other than my several attempts to level one as an alt; but I really hope their goal is to NOT make them like the other classes with a direct self heal and some sort of shield or armor spam. I just hope they fix and improve what is there. I always see the abilities and think they sound great but find from trying and reading NBs post that they apparently are not so great and could use a lot of improvements.
That said; I also see plenty of very effective NBs without all the extra crap.1 -

Nightblade has no damage shield, but does have one (mediocre) self-heal; Refreshing Path.
It is not worth using, but it is the only instance of a Nightblade skill that provides healing on themself (a self-heal) without needing to do damage to, or kill, a target (life-steal).

Deheart✭✭✭Granted I havn't played PvP hardly at all with any of my alts, but for PvE I rely on strife for self heal, and it is pretty effective.As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.0 -
psufan5✭✭✭✭Siphon + resto staff = good heal of time. Also, sap essence to deal your damage and give you additional heals.
Healing on the stamina side is basically not there though.

Since you decided to bring sorcs into this, I will gladly advocate NBs getting a 1.3 cast time heal that costs 4k magicka. It's the least I can do.
