Is 1.6 ready to go? or will it be like playing beta all over again?

When ESO released, i had a 150 man guild at startup.
After 3 months all had stopped due to lag, bugs and endless pve questing.

Now some are returning because lots of problems in ESO has been fixed over time.
1.6 looks great on paper, but is it tested enough? is it ready for release?
Or will we be thrown back to the feeling of playing a beta Again??

I would love answers especially from PTS testers.

No, it's not tested enough. There are / were some severe bugs and issues and the last beta build (1.6.4) wasn't ready at all.

The issue here is Zenimax set a launch date for Tamriel Unlimited and they have to push 1.6 out before March 17th. They started the PTS too late, that's the issue here.

1.6 is a major patch that changes many things (no, it's not a relaunch of ESO but still some important changes) and we know how well Zenimax handled all major patches.

Beta? I don't think so. ZOS made a lot of work to improve game. Does it need more work and tweaks to do? Sure. Will it be WIN for the game? Time will tell.

There will be issues for sure. Maybe have your friends come back few weeks after the 1.6 is put on live so Zos has bit time of fixing the last major bugs in it.

Oh, there will be issues, bugs, etc ... But don't kid yourself, the versions we get on the PTS are not betas. The PTS builds, as horribly buggy as some of them have been, are Release Candidates ... that is to say, they have been internally marked as just about ready to go and we get them to play with just to make sure there are no show-stoppers.

I just hope they have some mechanism for tracking CP gain and preventing any exploits before they do too much damage. Not talking about try-hard Bob and his buddies with the sweet grinding spot.

If they fix the damage modifier problems it will be fine. It was the biggest issue in the PTS builds. The rest is about balance. ChP will become an issue in the months to come but they can fix it before we get there.

I hope they spent the last week doing nothing but fixing the damage modifiers and perhaps revisiting the idea of a diminishing return cap on stats.

LOL Yeah; this is going to be pushed to live ASAP as they want to get it into the hands of as many people as possible to stress test it before Tamriel Unlimited officially happens. I'm sure only a fraction of the population has been on PTS at all, let alone extensively so this will be their way of forcing everyone to beta test.

As it is; I bet they feel pressed for time as they wanted it out last week. Now they only have 2 weeks to do fixes for what they view as their new market share's first impressions.

most noticeable bug to me are the ones that prevent the ult gen buff from happening..

seems to affect me constantly, and i lose any ability to get ult as a result.

I have also noticed massive sound glitches, and you can lose sound entirely if you are unlucky, requiring a total log to fix. these seem much more common than anything.

as always there are CTD issues that dont seem to have any cause, but this i remember quite clearly from a month ago on live, so not much change there.

also, unless you have 50k-100k dont aim for the mass murder achievements. they dont give anything like titles or dyes, and if you dont have enough Gold to pay your bounty when you die, you will still be "kill on sight" if your bounty is high enough, and getting that achievement will rack up a 50k+ bounty. one of my PTS characters is currently unable to step foot in towns due to having no gold from insanely high bounty gained from getting that achievement.

several class balance changes are noticeable... the biggest i see, is sorc will be challenging DKs monopoly on uber unkillable tanks. only Magma armor will give DKs some unique defense that Sorcs dont have in a better form.

Naaa, be fair in the actual situation:
Not alpha, not beta, and not delta. I think, its RC, a release candidate. Yes, there are some bad things. The beta last year has been a true beta, but they have done a lot of work into it since then.
Best hint may be to wait for some hot fixes after 1.6

And @Zenimax:
Dont forget the more and more growing latency problems, which could kill the whole game after March 17th, when the pricing model will change and the stampede of new players will arrive.

Patch 1.6 is long overdue. I have been on the PTS and found none of the bugs that others have been reporting. Mind you, I am not a numbers freak, I play the game to have fun. I am not an ultimate spammer so I have no issues with the way ultimate building was done. If anything, ultimate builds faster. The only annoying part of 1.6 is the respec as the last time on the PTS, I had forgotten about it and was wondering where my skills were gone while in a fight. I love the provisioning changes and the bag space that I regained from the collections tab. The Justice system is a load of fun, even when you get caught. It just means that you can't run around wildly like so many people tend to do. You have to think about where you are going and how close to the guards you get. The fact that if you spam a skill in the middle of the city will garner guard attention is a huge improvement to the game. I do advise that you are selective on what you steal as the 50 items fenced is reached easily. If you find a new recipe, learn it so that if you get caught, you don't loose it.

Here's a suggestion, make an alt for the Justice system. While it is tempting to use your V14, it is easy to get a bounty on your head that is higher than what you have in the bank. It takes time for the bounty to disappear. I will be willing to bet that we get posts on the forum about someone having a huge bounty and keeps getting killed by the guards so often that they can't play. They will be demanding that the guards be nerfed. If you use your head and play smart, the guards are not a problem. It is like in real life, if you were wanted by the police, would you walk around openly... Unless you were wanting to be captured.
