VR8 Story Quest Totally Broken Due To Knockback Bug!

So I'm in the Doomcrag in the final quest chain in Rivenspire. Not for the first time in the game the damned knockback from Magnum Shot IV throws me back out through the door into the passage leading to the fight. I can't get back in, I have no choice but to ALT-F4 and close.
I restart, dead, but somehow get back into the Lower Tier where there NPCs are stationary and there's a few mobs left. I manage to kill them and then .. nothing. The Baron doesn't do anything, the NPCs don't do anything, the entire quest is stalled.
Utterly broken.
So I try the only thing I can think of .. Abandon.
I cannot get it again. There is no sign of the vampire NPC who drives the quest chain. I've looked all around the Shrouded Pass Wayshrine and nothing.
Utterly broken.
How can I get this to work? Without it my enitire Cadwell's chain breaks and I can't complete it.

Kragorn✭✭✭✭✭Thanks Gary but he isn't there, I checked, I remembered that's where the quest chain starts.
Thing is, there have been a handful of quests which you complete then start the next one, I looked in the area around the wayshrine that you get to after doing the first couple of quests (closing the portals IIRC) but he's not there.
I now don't even remember the name of the quest I had to abandon, the last one in the chain that sends you into the top of Doomcrag to confront the final boss.Edited by Kragorn on March 3, 2015 3:55PM0 -

If you're needing toClimb the Doomcrag to speak with Baron Dorell, the quest is called "Puzzle of the Pass," and the bestowal is at the map above
If you're looking toKill Baron Montclair, the quest is called "The Lightless Remnant," and starts somewhere else.
Could you please let us know which character you're doing these quests on? We'd be happy to take a closer look! To be fair, there are lots of Barons along this quest, so it can get pretty confusing.Edited by ZOS_GaryA on March 3, 2015 4:29PM0 -
Kragorn✭✭✭✭✭Ah, "The Lightless Remnant", that's the Baron I'm trying to kill, it's the final boss fight in the chain, it's that 'version' of Verandis I can't remember to find.
I read the info for that quest on a fan site and it's definitely that one I abandoned and need to re-get and unfortunately that site didn't say where Verandis is.

Yes, I recall now, he's in the building right before the bridge to the Doomcrag sumnmit, I was looking all over the outside area just before it.
