Why isn't there more outrage over the lack of new content accompanying the Champion System?

Once they figured out they needed to go F2P they pretty much stopped putting out content because they are going to be able to charge folks for that. I don't blame them for it. It's a business and they have to make money. We'll get content but it's going to either come to subscribers or through the cash shop.

If they release new content now they pretty much have to release it for everyone and they'll miss the opportunity to sell it all the new F2P players or entice folks into subbing...shrug. It's not rocket science.

We'll seen new content, just....not yet.

Up until patch 1.6 it has been pretty much craglorn, cyrodiil, craglorn cyrodiil, craglorn....... Because there has been no point to go anywhere else.

The world is opening up? What? Just because you get XP for achievements or why is the world opening up now?

Content pre 1.6 is the same like content past 1.6 - there isn't any change or addition.

There has been outrage, it doesn't matter. Raging is not going to get us anything though I do find it kind of funny that people think this is the best method to get anything done. Its not.

Are you sure about that? Sorcs have been raging for 15 pages in this thread and ZOS is bending over backwards to address their concerns. If we formed a similar united front about the lack of content, ZOS might at least talk to us instead of ignoring us like they have done so far.

To be fair, there is a huge difference between tweaking numbers and a few lines of code vs. implementing an entire new zone or raid. Outrage works when its based on numbers/balance. Even then not all the time- see: block casting. Not so much for content that takes time to develop.

Can any of you fine folks here on these forums explain why there is not more of an outrage or even a revolt by our fellow subscribers over the lack of new, XP rich content to accompany the Champion System? Other than the obscene weapon damage bug and sorcs who want viable skills instead of pets, there has not been much generating strong opinions about 1.6. Yet somehow, the vocal subscribers who hate the veteran ranks and grind have been largely silent on this massive problem with the Champion System - the lack of content to earn Champion Points. How are we supposed to earn CPs? How many more times do we have to play content we have already played countless times?

Where is the outrage over this? Are people distracted by the shiny, new CS that they have not looked under the hood to notice all of the flaws? Do people not care? The CS makes the VR1 to VR14 journey seem like a pleasant weekend and excursion? Why aren't people angry over this?

Honestly, the reason I don't feel outraged is because I'm taking my sweet time leveling. I'm still going through Cadwells' stuff, so for me I feel like I still have so much content ahead before I hit a wall. I really do feel for those that have hit the end game a few times on different alts and are really itching for anything new to do.

I dont really care how long it takes to get to max CP. I dont even have a max level character and Ive been here since day one.

Dang, thought I was the only one in that particular boat.
Took me 3 months to reach VR1. I'm probably still a month or two away from VR14. There's more of us. :) Most of them roleplayers, though. Which makes me feel a little weird when I say I don't RP. I have no idea what I really am doing that it goes so slow.

Because people now realize that what I and others have been saying all along is true:

    - Consoles is ZOS's endgame.
    - Consoles are where the money is.
    - ZOS doesn't care about PC players.

Even I have lost the will to fight, we won't see new content anytime soon, might as well accept it and try to have as much fun as we can while it lasts, either in this game or in others.

So that puts me in step 4: Acceptance

Edit: Give it 2 months though, people will have nothing to do after finishing the thieves guild and will begin to ask for content maybe loudly enough so ZOS will reconsider delivering updates to PC before consoles. As I've stated in an other post, it would be a win win for everybody since it would allow them to make PC players test content before it's released to consoles (following the general direction they've taken all along).

This is the process. It's OK, we're all going through it.

    1 - Shock

    3 - Resistance
    4 - Acceptance

This is now a F2P game. B2P is an interim cash grab, nothing more. They will release the DLC content they developed while we were paying our subs as purchasable content (Imperial City and Wrothgar). If these sell they *might* make more and try to profit from it. If the DLC doesn't sell they will stock the crown store with "chainkinis" to boost sales and leave the game to rot.

If you're angry about the decisions ZoS is making, make sure to unsub the day the game goes F2P. Even if you want to maintain your sub, unsub for a week just to send the message. Losing subs at that rate will make their accountants mess their pants, and will be unmistakable feedback from the user community.

I would agree with this except that it seems pretty clear to me that ZoS is not even remotely concerned with trying to get people to maintain subs. They've even ended the loyalty program which was at least a nice gesture saying, "Hey we appreciate you folks who have stuck around with us since launch. Have a weird pet!" Since they pretty obviously don't care if people sub or not, losing subs is not going to fuss the bean counters.

That said, I do encourage EVERYONE to write to ZOS and let them know how you feel. It won't change a darn thing but it's still the right thing to do. Even better, write reviews about this game.

You could be right, I'd still like to think if ZoS goes from having x00,000 subs to exactly zero subs, all on the same day, that they'd pay attention to a clear message like that. Realistically it will never go to zero, but you get the idea. Having to process all those unsubs could potentially overload their billing server (or a nightly batch on the server), imagine having to explain that system crash to executive management. Probably won't happen, but it's an interesting thought (at least to me).

IMO, they've looked at the numbers and have an estimate as to how many people will remain subbed, as well as how many people will buy the game new now that there's no sub. They also have an estimate for how much revenue they will generate from their cash shop. If it turns out that their decisions were right and revenues stay within assumptions, they will simply assume the complainers are a vocal minority. If the reality of their metrics is not within a margin of error of their assumptions, they will start looking for a reason why and give more credence to player feedback.

I agree that anyone who cares should be vocal (hence the reason I'm still posting in the forums. Well, that and insomnia). Write to ZoS, rage in the forums, definitely write reviews. IMO - the only thing that will really empower those vocalizations is affecting ZoS' bottom line. As a community, we should take the responsibility to provide coordinated, measurable feedback to those in custodianship of the franchise we enjoy so dearly.

Content pre 1.6 is the same like content past 1.6 - there isn't any change or addition.

Let me elaborate a little more. First of all the question of this topic is "Why isn't there more outrage over the lack of new content accompanying the Champion System?" and I replied to this topic with my own opinion with emphasis on the words "I" and "me".

Yes, there is no new content coming with the patch, but for me it opens up the rest of the VR zones apart from Craglorn to be played again. Since I'm not so fond of alts, I am playing with my main about 99% of the time and so far there has been no point to visit the other VR zones to do stuff I missed or revisit delves and dolmens, take a rematch against world bosses and so on since it would have been quite literally a waste of my time.

Now thanks to the CP system I can go around the VR zones and do what ever I want to gain CP, maybe not the best way to get CP, but its something I enjoy and something I can do with some bizarre armor/weapon/talent combos that would simply not work in Craglorn or PvP. And I could even go and do those achievements that you mentioned :)

And as I said "this opens up the whole world for me" so what do I do in other zones besides VR? Well I go there occasionally to fish, help out new players, farm upgrade materials as a change of pace even though upper craglorn can yield some nirncruxes while farming. (Yep this section doesn't help with character progress at all, but fun to do.)

There is plenty of stuff for me to do, it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, this indeed opens up the whole world :)

I've been outraged for well over a month. I was having issues with the direction of the game and the whole champion points system / 1.6 stuff even before the announcement of TU and the clown store. Also the game seems to be moving away from the TES part and more into generic MMO style, which is not why I'm here.

Now I'm way past outrage. 3 out of 4 of the actual (not trade) guilds I'm in have had activity dwindle down to almost nothing, one of which has been in the past 6 months one of the best connected guilds on the NA server, kept small on purpose and no proselytizing recruitment - a very strong guild.

Recent "developments" have shattered all that. Whether the game picks up again in 6-9 months is entirely a roll of the dice.

I'm so far past outrage I'm into "nearly don't care at all". I browse the forums every couple of days in case anything interesting is being said. I've been logging in 1-2 times a week, and I bought another game and have been spending time there lately.

Everyone willing to put their money where their mouth is quit. Zenimax called them on their bluffs and lost. There is a noticeable lack of end-game players now. Zenimax is willing to gamble this loss assuming that console sales will make up for it.

All we can do now is hope that they are right and also that they use this resurgence to actually make the game worth coming back to. Or we can hope they they are wrong and the game fails so at least figure developers don't try to pull the same thing.

    Greetings, folks.
We do not allow threads created for the purpose of inciting or encouraging our community to "revolt", as neither allows for open, constructive discussion or exchange of ideas. As this thread is not constructive, we are closing it.

That said, we do want to address everyone's concern about the lack of new content coming with update 6. We have been working diligently on the new update, and between the Justice System, Champion System, gameplay rebalance, numerous bug fixes and more, we have had to focus on making sure these all worked properly before launch. We do have plans to release new content in upcoming updates, once we we have update 6 up and running. We understand that it can be frustrating to have to wait for new content, but rest assured we still have more great content on the way. Thank you for your understanding.
