I will be posting movie poster reworks to express mine.

Sad thing is I understand what you meant @WhiskyBob - I just think that the "veterans" are becoming the vocal minority and no body cares. The current state is either embrace the change, or shut your mouth. And for what it is worth, I think that ZOS is so focused on console that all PC players are going to have to sit for the time being. I mean, we get 1.6 to play with, so it is ready for console, but anything else is going to have to wait. I am not saying the game sucks and I want to quit, just that the overall shift seems to be away from the sub people to focus on the console people, then to the B2P people, then maybe it will come back around?
Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

Have to admit, when I saw the thread title, was thinking military veterans.

As a game veteran of ESO, yeah, we waded through a lot of bugs, but I realize all changes are driven by this:

You're going to be paying zeni more? I sure as hell am not. If things get ridiculous in PvP (e.g. 1 shot consistently by CP grinders), there's no reason to keep playing this particular game.

This actually sums up how most of us feel quite nicely I believe. A popular trend lately is to use the word "community" when a developer is explaining things like B2P or the Cash Shop. Unfortunately, the community being referenced is not this community, but rather their upcoming potential community. Those of us that have been playing the game since beta and genuinely care about it's future can only buckle up and hope for the best because we are no longer a target audience. At least that is the way it feels to us.

We are watching cause there is nothing else we can do. We can watch we can criticize, we can care but it does not matter.
We are watching how this game is going to *** by appealing to lowest common denominator.

I am not going to be watching I am going to be playing, :)
It is just a game, I have played mmo;s since the 90's everyone of them have done something that drove the players crazy or away, not everything they do is going to appeal to a certain amount of the player base, if the game flops at this point oh well /shrug,
I have been here since early beta, and have had a lot of fun, if the game becomes no fun, I move along with the great fun memories I had.

Seconding this. While the game was always marketed as trying to have "something for everyone," it does seem like their target audience has shifted, and the development team is no longer interested in trying to produce a quality game. All the changes they're making seem to be focused on making the game longer, more monotonous and "grindier" instead of more fun with repeatable content. This of course then feeds into creating demand for cash shop "convenience items" that will take the edge off the monotonous grinds they have instituted.

As I've mentioned in a couple of other threads, anyone who is not happy with the changes being made should unsub the day the game goes B2P. Even if you intend to maintain your sub, you should unsub that day, and then resub a week later. A message like that from the community is something that will make their accountants mess their pants, and give the leadership at ZoS something to really think about.

    Potential customers?

It's the ElderScrolls. It's a freaking niche market. Anyone that would buy this game and play for years has already bought it and have been loyal subscribers. The cod crowd, or who ever you think will play this, might, but for a month max.
What do you think will happen? Do you really believe people will stop playing games they are heavily invested, both in time and financially, to swarm to ESO? Why? To wait for basic bug fixes for a year? Or be strung along with the promise of new content, only to be told it won't be released for almost another year? Or being told major missing factions are on hold and wont be implemented for two years? Or.. List is long but I know nobody gives a crap anymore. They got the $15.00its all that matters.

The people here now are the ones that you should try..TRY... To please.

This bs of holding the Imperial city till next f'n fall is a bold mother f'n move.
You can use it as the carrot on the stick, but sooner or later people will get tired of waiting.

@Alphashado , @Morshire , it reaches a point where it becomes more about conservation of energy. There are limits to how much change happens as a result of valid feedback provided by those that have been here from the start.

When you (feel like you) stop getting peoples' attention, there's no reason yell until you lose your voice.

At that point, you can only sit back and hope the focus will return. We shall see.

Who cares After them using our sub money , not to fix bugs, or correct bad game design, crappy LFG system, lame Guild stores, and Guild Functions, phased quest, group system all very poorly done and amature at best.

But instead used it to pay for the setting up of the Cash store and launch of the B2P model, I`ll never buy anything in their cash store, or pay them a sub, or buy anything ZOS has a hand in creating, or publishing again.

I mean hell they could have atleast fixed the brillant white glow of Farrgut keep main gate; thats been that way since atleast December 2013 before launch but no .

I Haven`t even logged in but 2 times in over a month, just passing the days until Camelot Unchained launches.

Never seen it . Was it good ?

I got tired of watching things go bad awhile ago . I fire off critical emails to the parent company with my grief . I publicly rage about the game with the store clerks at Game Stop , Target , Walmart and Best Buy . Then I log in and try to forget about it for a couple hours . Rinse and repeat .

Wow. I had a serious flashback to the Bethesda Skyrim forum circa November 2011 after reading this.

It is true that ZOS is going to be listening to everyone, and that will include the new console players as well as B2P people coming into the game. It is also true that some of the views and opinions will not always align with what every "Veteran" thinks should happen.

It is also true that the number one reason to subscribe over the last year, aside from actually playing the game, was to have the ability to influence the direction of the game. The people who were subscribed and making feedback at the time have influenced, heavily influenced, the direction of the game in the last 9 months. Not everyone is going to get everything they want, but I can tell you that many of my suggestions are currently in the game. Not all of my suggestions are in the game, and I may not be the exclusive suggester of the ideas, but they do sometimes do what I suggest.

In the end, as I read through your list of issues, I find myself being pretty "meh" about it.

I don't see the past year as "paid beta", as others have suggested, as much as the opportunity to contribute to the game development direction. Bugs are not going to magically disappear come ESOTU. New bugs will continue to present themselves. People will be playing through bugs for a good long time.

With the coming of B2P, we will no longer be the only ones who care about the direction of the game. The B2P people will have just as much of a right to ask for changes, and even reversals, of game decisions. ZOS will need to address these things, and that does scare me considerably. I fear the influx of passionate and convincing P2W players. We already have the "mold ESO into the image of my favorite MMO" crowd in here, and that will also get worse.

There have been some comments about the upcoming zones being paid DLC. The concern that subscriber money in 2014 was used to create these and that they will be paid DLC. Subscribers are paying for current content, but they money is used for future development. This is always the case, and the DLC is no different. Anyone who subscribes to ESO Plus will get the same DLC that was "paid for" in 2014 for no additional cost, and under the same terms. The only difference is that there is now a way to get these updates without having to subscribe.

I do want to caution about "only child syndrome" in all of this. The topics of incoming B2P players and the new console players are generating a lot of commentary that seems to support it.
